2020 Vision

That year

New Years Day

had everyone

whole-heartedly exclaim

with a hashtag

or a paragraph notation

“2020 vision”

:

With the assurance that

this would be the year

we bask in sunshine

after the rain

:

Where we would

cloud gaze

into blue skies

after the gray

:

3 months flashed by

Then it came…

:

The virus

The confusion

The isolation

The pain

:

A devastation grave enough

to shake the earth

To awaken our slumber

:

& reveal that we can’t go on

living this way

in an unconscious plunder

Hurting ourselves

and nearly insane

:

To change your vision

to see more clearly

you must look at things

that you have never seen

:

The earth was due

for an eye exam

We couldn’t even make out

the last letter on the top page

:

We all had to update our prescriptions

Realign our focus

Heal what we have been hiding

:

Love the children we shoved in the closet

Feel our hearts again

and learn to listen

:

We had to rise up

from a collective dark night of the soul

into our next age of ascension

:

That way

we could all have our self-acclaimed
