Do motivational speakers actually matter?

If the motivational speakers have a true impact, then everyone in the audience would have become enough motivated. We all agree on this point that it quietly doesn’t happen. Speakers can be a catalyst to bring you to re-explore your current practices and habits. You have to consider some execution aspects that you were not already considered.

The speaker can be the change agent that you’ve been looking for or might have no impact at all. That depends upon both the quality of the speaker’s performance and the material. Where you discover yourself in life and your career. A catalyst that influences one compound may have no impact on another. The same is true with motivational speakers and individuals.

Motivation is inaccurately critiqued because it isn’t enduring. A bath doesn’t last either for a few days, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take one on a repeated basis. It’s a baseless assumption to imagine you could hear one speaker at a time, and it would change your spirit forever. I am not saying it has never happened. It is a suggestion you shouldn’t assume that’s the guaranteed result of hearing a motivational speaker.

It’s a similar mistake to assume that just since the speaker that you might have heard was a charlatan. It needs to understand that all in the field share the same irresponsibleness or ineptitude.

How does motivation work for most people?

Have you ever thought about yourself, How blessed you really are? Have you written down the list of all the things that belong to you?

If you are reading this article then you are already having enough tools to motivate yourself. You have the time to read articles and technology (electricity) to connect to the Internet. Reports vary but have you got any idea around 40% of the world’s population still lives in extreme poverty. Think of all the millions of people around the world, if they could live your simple life for one day.

Do you realize how lucky are you?

Have you got any idea about the tools, people, and support around you, if you stop inflicting fear into your mind?

Your mindset is the biggest investment in your life.

You can dream to the other side of the universe and back. But if you’re not putting effort towards your goals then how do you expect to get to where you want to be after few years. Maybe you have set your goals too high. You are not honest enough about your expectations.

How do you expect to learn and create new skills without daring to go out of your comfort zone?

Let’s start by tomorrow with a new beginning. Why do you not use the rest of the evening to write down your goals and dreams with realistic ways to achieve them?

Write down that what scares you and find practical ways to eliminate a negative mindset. Do some research about your role models and learn from their stories too. Try to get an early night’s sleep (make it a regular routine) and instill discipline in yourself.

Success is highly predictable. We only have one life to achieve what we want, so work smart and brilliantly. Go and get it.

Measure yourself in the next 5 years against your former self. If you can’t see any changes in yourself, surely you need to change your strategy to achieve your goals.

My strategy to be Motivated

Young people pay good money to get tattoos, while middle-aged people pay to get tattoos removed. Middle-aged people rushed to divorce, young adults, rushed to marry. Older people work hard to lose what middle-aged people worked hard to gain. On and on and on.

The question is, that fascinates me is, why do we make decisions that our future selves so often regret?

I train my mental toughness every day. I used to neglect my brain. I didn’t trust my instincts and used to spend my time while overthinking. So I started reading and practicing stoicism, mindfulness, and pragmatism.

Which helped me to command my thoughts and emotions. Which helped me to improve my mental toughness. I take out at least half an hour every day to exercise my body. When I don’t exercise, I lack energy, confidence, and focus. So now workout has been an important part of my life.

Overcoming procrastination only starts before you fight the inner battle.
