Will We Fix This In Time?

Yes, no, maybe so?

The world has always been horrible to a degree. It's also been great, to a degree, but unfortunately, evil has always been around.

I was watching Hidden Figures, and I know that it's a movie and I'm not fully sure of all the information it gives. But, some of the scenes remind me of problems of today, presented differently.

For example, the scene where Katherine has her first day in the main office, and she goes to get a cup of coffee. Every single person stares at her when they start realizing she's about to drink the coffee from the same pot as them. It's as if they've never seen a person take some coffee from a big container, where they only touch a push down tab and the cup never even meets the spout.

Most of them have mugs, filled to some degree, yet they stop and watch her like it's the most befuddling magic trick.

She eventually puts the mug off to the side when she grows uncomfortable from the attention.

Next day, they have a separate smaller, obviously not new pot with "colored" written on a piece of tape.

Now, she does her own speech and mentions this so I won't go into detail apart from saying this;

It's a mother-effing coffee pot!

That is what they got upset over. 40 people of different homes, ages, lifestyles, etc. And they get upset over the one Black/African-American woman drinking from the group coffee pot.

Now, this wasn't really surprising but still.

The world has always found something to have a problem with, it's human nature. And yes, we don't like change, some of us pretend we do, but most of us don't. Which is normal enough, we are designed to like patterns.

But back to the point, those with the real say in life for everyone, have too much time on their hands, and often come from silver spoon upbringings.

The people in control of everything don't know what it feels like to be the people they decide things in life for. They are the people who live in families where years ago, Dad went to work where he probably didn't too much on a daily basis. Mom may have stayed home but she has a nanny (maybe coloured herself), and possibly other servants who take care of everything.

Now, having help, especially with kids, is great. But, when you don't have to do anything on a daily basis, and you don't set yourself a routine, life gets a little too...unfulfilled if you will.

And those who've seen it or been there, you know that women of "status" have often learned how to get what they want. Maybe using their bodies, maybe whatever else they have. But, the point is this.

People today tend to have too much time on their hands. Not everyone, of course, but the world is showing it more and more. Only it's not always "housewives" who want more riches to show off anymore who are shwoing the hate.

Instead of focusing it on one group (although we were doing that until covid-19 came about), we're just doing it to everyone and everything we can now. Well, at least 15% of humans are.

We have to find something good to do. All of us.

How long until we realize that this planet is our only survivable one that most of us are aware of, and that we are destroying it. Sure, some are doing their hardest to save it, and I commend those who are. We just need to stop with the hate.

No, what we really need, is to fix our systems. Fix everything. Because so few are truly working anymore. I almost wonder if this virus will force us to fix some. But, unfortunately, it's also going to show us who is truly monstrous in this world. It's already starting to.

Will we ever be a happy planet again?
