What Am I So Committed To Irregardless Of What Failure Will Bring?

Hard Truths We Need To Tell Ourselves

Commitment. A scary word without the slightest of doubts. A word that has cheapened so much in today’s world because everything is disposable. People are now commodities. Everything at your fingerprints they said, but who knew, in everything, they meant including “people”, they meant including “reason” and they meant including “empathy”? I am not old enough to make comparisons as to how things were in the past and what things have morphed into right now. I hear older generations say that they were happier, but then, it also depends on who you are asking those questions and what background they had/came from…

Yet, why I am getting lachrymal about times I have never experienced, that is and will be beyond me. But since we are where we are, how can we preserve our best commitment in the face of snowflake-ism/swipe left and right culture? Nothing wrong with having a new set of values, in fact this is indeed healthy for the progress of humanity, but it looks like our upcoming generation would rather engage in cancel culture and continuous blockage of “If I don’t like what I hear, thou shall not exist”. A very puritanical take, however so very real and American. In this country we just cannot seem to find balance, we need to go from one extreme to the other. That is a very asinine stance in my opinion. Yes, rumor has it that there’s almost 8 billion people among us, & yes, it is not our world and people do not just live in it. We live in a society in which we have to contribute, irregardless of how ghastly entitled trophy kids might try to grasp or perceive it.

There are however reasons to be jubilant about. In fact, there’s a rainbow after every storm, and there is healing after every dark night of the soul. As I have said before, neutrality is the only truth you should have, because this current plane we’re living at, is a world of duality, there is no good without the bad and vice versa. Stop fighting it, and stop being shocked. This life is about learning how to juggle with both positive and negative microcosms. It’s that simple.

It can be daunting, debilitating, pernicious, and depressing to be carrying out your life missions when everything around you goes the opposite way. People around you are idle, inactive, confused and directionless, uncollaborative, uninspiring, delusional, lost to a point of no return, in search of something they themselves do not even know they will find. How can you find something you have no idea what it looks like. I might be exaggerating here, but under my POV, these individuals that come into your life with no specific purpose, waste a bunch of your most precious scarce resource (“TIME”) and they walk away as nothing ever happened, I think this should be morally illegal, and nefarious even. Wasting someone's time is the highest form of disrespect. These exact same people, will judge you, laugh at you or disregard you completely during your failures in order to achieve a bigger mission, whatever that may be.

I am not personally obsessed about people and what they think, but I find the biggest deterrence and hindrance of beautiful ideas to be stopped by exactly these individuals. What are you willing to do in order to achieve your personal fulfillment? Are dowdy Karens gonna stop you from it? The Brads, maybe? Failures can come in the shapes of bad credit scores, bankruptcy, eviction, lawsuits, you name it. But what makes the path magical actually, is that nevertheless, you persisted. This can/will only work IF you want something bad enough. Obsession is frowned upon by the public, but who said that is the direction that you are going toward. Obsession has been the only common denominator of any high achiever in human history. A wasted life is as good as a life never lived.

Mark my words, the self-empowerment and personal satisfaction you will reach after listening to your heart, mind, rationale and intuition, has no price tag. Never forget, the ones that criticize you now, will soon be speaking about how they met you. Who cares what failures arise, can you climb the mountain? Nobody said it will be easy, and I guess that’s the whole point of being here, it shan’t be easy, because easy, doesn’t tell good fireplace stories.
