What does it mean to see things from a higher perspective... an enlightened perspective. What is enlightenment?

Watching The Parade From a Different Vantage Point (excerpt from my book)

Chapter 1

Watching the parade from a different vantage point is an analogy for seeing something from a different perspective. When you understand the fundamental Wäsü Philosophy you will then began to see life from a different perspective, and at times more than one. Being able to view life situations from different perspectives gives balance. This balance is the result of being able to weigh the different variables of life's situations giving deeper insight into everything on a whole. Having this deeper insight helps one live peaceful and harmoniously.

Peaceful living is a result in one's comfort level with themselves and their surroundings. Any organism out of its element experiences a level of stress that ranges from heightened sense of awareness to panic. Now think if you were watching a parade street level you would be unaware of what was coming after the next marching band (This is not to say that this situation would cause panic. It is for example sake.). However, if you were on the second floor of the building behind where the crowd was standing you would be able to view more of the parade. The same holds true with an enlightened mind, there is a bigger picture thus enabling one to remain calmer and more stable in most situations that would cause distress in the average person. An enlightened mind can also view situations from more than one perspective. This greater understanding also allows for peace. It is often helpful to see from an opposing viewpoint. Arguments may be diffused with less difficulty. “Putting yourself in someone else's shoes,” is not a new concept and is probably one of the easier philosophies to grasp.

How does one begin on this journey to enlightenment? How does one begin to see the sphere and not the circle? A guide, guru, or more experienced individual is always good for consulting purposes. Most philosophies deem them absolutely necessary. I would tend to agree, but one knows themselves better than anyone else can ever know. Or maybe I should say one should know themselves better than anyone else. Generally, you can learn yourself faster than having someone tell you who you are. A guide is needed because many times the wrong path can be chosen without the individual even knowing. The results from this is quite messy, because one may become caught up in some dogmatic illusion they have created. Religion in many cases is a dogmatic illusion.

In the grand scheme of things being enlightened has little to do with religion. It has more to do with thought processing and spirituality. Enlightenment is having an elevated understanding of life's complexities, knowledge of the universe, and applying that understanding and knowledge to everyday life. Religion deals more with learning doctrine, following traditions and conducting rituals. This is not to say religion is bad, however, the world has seen the results when it is taken out of context (crusades, wars, terrorist activities, etc.). Spirituality and enlightenment have a direct correlation because once your spirit is connected with the creator of all (the source, center of the universe, the great I Am, etc.) all truths become apparent, thus achieving a state of enlightenment. The longer and stronger an individual makes this connection the closer they become to the creator of all. The ultimate is being able to do as it is written, all things... the impossible. We have limitless power once linked to the creator of all, the source of all things.

You can begin to view the world from a different perspective when enlightened. Many things become clearer and yet peoples' individual ignorance becomes a bigger mystery. However, the causes of ignorance become more understandable, but none the less not necessarily any more tolerable. When I speak of ignorance in this sense I am not just speaking regarding levels of intellect but the sum total of all negative human thought processes and emotions (greed, hate, jealousy, fear, revenge etc.) All are ultimately caused by ignorance. Though some negative emotions were derived as self-preservation mechanism, when paired with negative thought processing and failure to use logical thinking the end result still yields ignorance.
