In our rush to be more productive and successful, it is easy to lose sight of what it means to have a rich life. Accumulating mass wealth can distract us from what really matters — finding inspirational ways to increase our happiness and fulfillment, and enjoying what we have more every day

The feeling of being wealthy doesn’t have anything to do with your bank account. In fact for some, having more money could further stress them out, which leads them to spend money on things they don’t need. There are however, a few things you can do to feel more wealthy, and lift that burden off your shoulders.

The secret is in the feeling

Neville Goddard said it, not me. The secret is in the feeling. According to Neville, author of inspirational books such as Feeling is the Secret and The Power of Awareness, if you can conjure up the feelings of having what you want, you are already half way there. The manifestation of your desire is only a matter of time.

I decided to put this theory to the test. There’s a caveat though. One well-known author put it this way, “The universe will only deliver what you have the capacity to receive, not just what you desire and imagine. It won’t give you three scoops of icecream when all you can handle is one.”

Here Are the Top 10 Ways I Have Used to Feel Wealthier Instantly

1. Stop comparing yourself to others

Stop comparing yourself to others and start focusing instead on improving your own skills. The number one reason people give for why they don’t improve their skills is that they don’t have the time or the energy. It’s true that most people have too much on their plates but you can set aside time each day, or week to learn or do something new.

2. Surround yourself with people who have what you want

Create goals that will make you feel wealthy. Wealthy people create better habits by setting goals for themselves for things such as eating better, taking walks, or saving money. You can do the same. They also set higher goals for themselves for things like working hard and creating net worth. The most important part is making sure you follow up by taking the required action.

3. Create a group of friends who already have what you want

Choose a luxury to indulge in at least once a month (go to nice restaurants, buy expensive books, get your nails done.)

4. Pay attention to and acknowledge the small stuff

Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. One of the reasons people become stuck in their lives is because they have a negative view of their own abilities. They believe they aren’t good enough, and this view affects their outlook on life and the people around them. The solution is to develop positive beliefs about your abilities. Negative thoughts can be dispelled by developing positive thoughts.

5. Practice gratitude

Wealth is not dependent on how much money you make or what you have. It is about living with an attitude of gratitude, and being aware of the world around you.

6. Find a mentor

A mentor can be an important part of building wealth. Mentors have knowledge or experience you can learn from, and they can offer practical advice on how to get started on your goals, or help you overcome obstacles that stand in your way.

7. Make conscious saving decisions

Being a conscious saver means recognising that money is a tool to protect you from harm and help lift others out of need. You will not allow yourself to be swayed by advertisements which try to get you to spend money on things you don’t need.

Finally

Wealth is more than material possessions. It is a state of being. That state can be achieved through learning how to create feelings one associates with wealth.
