Do you know what your birth chart says? Or, do you even know what a birth chart is? Your birth chart is based off of the time, location, and date of your birth. At the time when you were born, every planet and star and thing up there in the universe was in a specific place. Doesn't seem like it matters, but it absolutely does. Your birth chart displays where all those planets and stuff were, and this contributes to the magic that is your personality.

If you'd like to learn more about birth charts, feel free to send me an email at [email protected] or visit my Tumblr page! Right now, I'm completing sample chart readings for free—covering your sun, moon, and rising signs, as well as the planets in your first three houses.

Every birth chart has 12 houses. These are the 12 houses (of the zodiac... I guess), and each house symbolizes something different. I've decided to start a series where I talk about each house of the zodiac, to help everyone learn a little more about themselves! Check out my profile for the other articles on the other houses.

The 5th house in your birth chart represents children, pleasure, creativity, passion, creation, self-expression, talent, how you enjoy life, and how you define romance.

If you haven't already gotten your birth chart, I encourage you to go to astro.com and enter your information. The chart is completely free, and it shows you all of your signs and planets and placements. Once you've done that, follow along with me while we explore the fifth house!

This is my birth chart...

As you can see in the picture, there are little numbers on the inside of the circle, near the middle. You'll notice that each number matches a section, and there are little symbols in there. Each section represents a house, and the symbols represent planets. Use the box on the left side to match the images with the planets if you don't already know!

If you're following along with me (and I'm explaining it right), you should be able to tell that my fifth house contains a stellium, which is when four or more planets occur in the same house.

DISCLAIMER: I have gained this information from various sources on the internet. If you see something in here that may be yours and you would like it removed, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

Sun in the 5th house: In order for your ego to survive, you need to be able to create, to love, and to be happy. As a child, you got spoiled because you were encouraged to be young and carefree. You may feel like you live in Neverland, because you're never growing up. If you decide to have children, they will feel like a piece of you and you might take it personally if they fail.

Moon in the 5th house: Your mother was possibly narcissistic, loud, or creative—or a combination of all three. You bring the drama of others into your life to center it around you, which helps you heal your wounds. You've probably always wanted children, but if you decide to have them they may be very emotional or break your heart. You're very romantic. The first born child for this placement tends to be a girl.

Mercury in the 5th house: You like to communicate through arts and your creativity. Your mind is expansive and romantic, but you tend to put yourself first and focus on how to make yourself happy. If you have children, communication will be key. You will expect them to take on lots of projects and do well in school.

Venus in the 5th house: You need to be pursued in love in order for it to feel like love. You love all things beautiful and you are an artist with high confidence. You enjoy your own company the most. If you have children, you will see overwhelming amounts of beauty in them and have a lot of love for them. It will probably be you who teaches them about love and relationships.

Mars in the 5th house: When you were younger, you might have been bullied for the things that you loved. Now you're afraid of being hurt, and you don't let anyone walk all over you. You're energetic, hyper, and competitive in all areas of your life. If you have children, you will be very attentive to them. You feel that parenting is very serious and you may overreact when your children get hurt, which just makes everything worse.

Jupiter in the 5th house: Your childhood was fun because your talents were accepted and developed. You like to hang out with people that are younger than you, probably because you still feel young inside. This is due to your super active imagination. You probably have big dreams, but you may never act on these dreams. You have idealistic ideas about raising children, but you may not follow through. You're more likely to just share those dreams with them instead, and they will turn into idealists themselves.

Saturn in the 5th house: You may have been raised by an overprotective and controlling parent. A lot was expected from you and you may be afraid to let yourself go. You believe in working hard to play hard and you like to be around people older than you. If you have children, you will make sure they have routine—this means doing chores and having respect for elders. Because you take parenting very seriously, you may wait to have kids or not have any at all.

Uranus in the 5th house: Your childhood was probably tumultuous and you had to grow up too soon. You might seem reckless, but you just have lots of creativity that needs to be unleashed. If you have children, they will probably be geniuses but will rebel against your lessons.

Neptune in the 5th house: You live for drama, and it makes you happy. You have a hard time seeing your own creative expression because you believe the talents of others are your own. When you accept yourself, you can be very creative. If you have children, you may have a hard time clearly seeing their needs, but you will have a great amount of love for them.

Pluto in the 5th house: Your childhood may have ended early, and you try to create a new one every now and then. When you're manic, you're highly creative. But when you're depressed, you're lethargic and boring. If you have children, they may keep secrets from you, and you will resent this. But they will only do this because they fear your control over them.

Chiron in the 5th house: You're very in tune with your inner child. You may have issues with your ego being fed and getting recognition for the things you do. Your sexual patterns are a bit unusual, and you may be drawn to sexual experimentation or obsession. However, you're excellent working with children or teaching.

North Node in the 5th house: You still need to work on developing your self-discipline and inner strength. You may learn a lot through spending time alone. Success will come through your individual creative work and strong willpower. Always remember to use your powers for good and to help others.

With an empty 5th house, you won't focus much on hobbies, leisure time, general time for play and fun, children, and romance.

A stellium occurs when there are four or more planets in the same house. With a stellium in the 5th house, you may feel overwhelmed by all of the creative options you have. Your love life can be a bit of a maze and you need to concentrate on your social relationships more.

There's always more to learn! The signs on the outer ring of each house also play a part in determining your personality, and I include those readings in my birth charts readings! Thanks for reading and come back next time to learn about the 6th house!
