So, I bet you are sitting there feeling very overwhelmed. Maybe not everyone that is reading this article will feel that way. But I bet since the Christmas season is coming up on us about half of us will, the parents, the mothers especially, the kids that are waiting to see what Santa brought them. The perfectionist mothers are trying to make sure that everything is perfect. The fathers are working hard to make sure that they give their kids every single thing that they want. The things that they did not have when they were child.

I bet some of you are just waking up this morning. And thinking about every thing that you have to do today. Or every thing that you have to do this week and you are already feeling overwhelmed because you have so many things on that to-do list. You have so much that you have to do. I am sure that some of you that are reading this are feeling that way even with out the Christmas season coming upon us. I know I have been feeling that way for the last month or so.

We all have days when we have so much to do, we feel that we can not take a break because if we do, nothing will get done. We may feel that we do not know where to start, it can be overwhelming to even figure out the simple things, somehow, though, it all comes together.

But take a minute for yourself today. Take 30 minutes to take a catnap or take or even just one hour to yourself to relax, to remind yourself that you got this. Remind yourself that you can get through this day, you can get through this week. You can get through every thing that is weighing down on you right now. Take a few minutes just to breathe. Take a few minutes just for yourself. Spend time with your family for an hour. You can not run yourself ragged trying to get everything done. And then become unhealthy. So, take care of yourself, your well-being, and your health before anything else.

All those phone calls that I have to make are still going to be there tomorrow. But I am going to take some time for myself. I have a lot to do. Just like you all do. But it does my family no good to have me overwhelmed. It does my family and my kids no good for me to be stressed out, for me not to be able to enjoy time with them. Especially around the holiday season.

So, take just a little bit of time for yourself. If you do not do anything else within that hour of that day. Spend that first 30 minutes with your kids, and that other 30 minutes telling yourself, “Hey, you are badass. Hey, you got this! Hey, you are a Rockstar!”

If you do not take care of yourself, then who will take care of you? Who will take care of your kids when you are stressed out or having a nervous breakdown over Christmas shopping? You have time to get it all done, so slow down and take a breath.

And just like that, we got through the hectic day or week we were needing to get through. All the phone calls got made, all the doctor’s appointments were made, all the chores got done, all the homework got done, gas is in the car, kids got off to school and back home again. And tomorrow is a new day.
