Stop Thinking like That!

Everything happens for a reason.

There are many things to be said about life but, I’ll get straight to the point. STOP! Stop thinking your life is a big inconvenience. I, for one, used to do this all the time. I thought every bad or what seemed to be a negative thing that happened in my life was an inconvenience.

Exhibit A: I have moved around so much that I don’t have stable friends but, I have many connections.

Exhibit B: I moved to Germany when I was 13 or 14 and was not able to get my license at the age of 16 like everybody else back in Texas. Therefore, I am now almost 19 with no license and it has sure made my legs stronger.

I can list more but the point is there have been lots of instances where I wished my life could have gone like I planned it. Keyword being I or in other words Me. Now, I know that everything happens for a reason. I also know that God puts me through what he knows that I can handle. However, every time something would happen that I didn’t plan I would get upset and it would ruin my mood for the majority of the day. Consequently, I have the worst attitude when I was upset.

I know many people feel this way about their day to day life. They think their life is inconvenient the majority of the time. Whenever you feel this way, know that you have to stop thinking about life like that. It’s unhealthy and once you start thinking more positively and open-minded you will become more happy with yourself and life.

Of course, bad things happen that are out of your control. But regardless of the situation don’t let things that you can’t control ruin your day. For example, I look at Exhibit A in a positive light. For one, moving around a lot has made me well rounded as a person. Also, my networking skills are pretty good cause I’m a master at making friends now. I also don’t get hurt when people walk out of my life anymore. Exhibit B is slightly different. I appreciate that I don’t have a license a lot of times because I basically live in Houston and to be frank everyone in Houston can’t drive. So just throw the whole city away… just kidding.

In conclusion whenever something doesn’t go as planned try thinking to yourself, “where one door closes another one opens” or simply “everything happens for a reason.” Every day isn’t going to be spectacular but find the good in the bad. Don’t wait until tomorrow to be happy.
