These are simple things that may not cost you much to do on your summer vacation, but they are undoubtedly a huge achievement. Choose what suits you and start with it, neither tomorrow nor next week.. but from today:

Read a book every day/every week

There are those small easy-to-read brochures that are heavy in value, or those books that take a lot of time to complete. In any case, you should diversify between reading brochures and books in the field you are interested in or want to see.

Choose from any book format that is most suitable for you, either as a PDF on the Internet, or as a hard copy. In almost every country there is a market for old used books, save up some money and travel there and borrow something from those treasures.

If you want suggestions on which books to read, you will probably want to ask professionals involved in the field you decided to read. Don't be shy to ask them.

Do not forget your fortune of books in foreign languages to enrich it. Do not worry about your level, for each level there are a good number of books to match it, and there are even books for beginners in that language.

As for novels, they are good for enriching scientific and literary value and imagination. But it should not be everything, nor fill your shelves with thousands of them and fall short of books of scholarly value. Balance between this and that.

Learn a new language

A totally new skill and experience that appreciates your intellect and shows you abilities you didn't even know you had. These are the top 10 most common world languages that you can learn:

  • Chinese: 1.380 million people
  • English: 850 million people
  • Spanish: 500 million people
  • Arabic: 430 million people
  • Indian: 380 million people
  • Russian: 260 million people
  • Japanese: 128 million
  • Portuguese: 250 million people
  • French: 220 million
  • German: 87 million people
  • Korean: 77 million people
  • Turkish: 71 million people

Of course, you will not choose any language and commit yourself to it arbitrarily. Rather, you should study its importance and its relationship to the field you love or the extent to which you accept it, its rules and pronunciation, and whether it will benefit you in getting a better travel or work opportunity, or are you just learning it for fun.

Acquire a new hobby/skill

In addition to your familiar hobbies, add to your list a number of new hobbies that weigh down your skills, this hobby may be:

  • Writing (stories, novels, articles, thoughts...)
  • Practicing a new sport (swimming, horseback riding, basketball, handball, volleyball...)
  • Playing a musical instrument (lute, kamanja, flute, piano...)
  • Design (drawing, web design, animation design for clips, fashion design..)
  • Programming (learning one or two programming languages, website development, game programming, application programming..)
  • Calligraphy (Arabic, Persian, Diwani...)

The list of hobbies and skills goes on and on, such as cooking, dancing, travelling, camping, and others. Learning something new will develop your emotional, mental and physical skills. Take advantage of your guide to learn anything whatever in twenty hours.

Challenge yourself with your friends

Choose one of your interested friends and compete for a specific goal, be it losing weight, gaining a higher fitness, reading challenge, learning a language or a new skill, and more.

Doing it with someone will increase its meaning, value, and enthusiasm for completing it, and you both will have important ideas and perspectives on what you are facing in this challenge, each with your own experience, more and better than you would have achieved if you were alone.

And if you are that type of person who is interested in igniting the enthusiasm of those around him, invite a number of friends, not one friend, for this challenge, or enter into another challenge with another friend about another achievement that you want to achieve.

Get rid of 5 bad habits and add 5 good ones

Make a list of all the habits that you hate about yourself and that make you less effective and achieve and stand between you and your social, professional and psychological success. Squeeze your mind and identify the 5 most important and most effective of these habits and commit yourself to work on getting rid of them. You have three months and you can get rid of one or two a month.

And as agreed, make a list of the most important 5 good habits that you want to acquire that will add a lot to your life and make you more effective, you just have to imagine how your life will radically transform if you give up 5 bad habits and replace them with 5 wonderful ones!

Join a new course

And if it is in your field of study or work, or it may be a short course or workshop to acquire one of the important skills that you cannot be ignorant of.

Commit yourself to completing at least one course per month, and there are many sites that offer you a number of free and paid courses, whether in English or any other language.

Read at least one article in your field every day

What is your occupation/study or science that you are interested in? Whatever it is you will find a lot of articles, books and clips in it, read one article or watch a small clip about it daily.

Commit yourself to reading in it periodically daily without interruption, no matter what happens, this will make you aware of the most important things that happen in this field, no matter how far you are from it, and it will always keep you motivated and aware of everything so that you do not stop from it.

Watch a documentary every day

Any documentary film ranging in length from 30 minutes to a maximum of an hour and a half. Don't you have half an hour each day in the morning or evening?

Meditate and take a time out

Have you been hard on yourself at work lately? Did the exams drain you to the last? Are you going through nervous and psychological pressure?

You're not alone, everyone here looks like you, so they invented the time-out. Cut off everything and win a special time for yourself to relax, relax and get rid of all those impurities stuck in your mind and your physical and psychological energy.

That's not all, but you can start here and if you stick to a thing or two of the above you'll thank yourself a lot later. Happy holiday!
