You cannot buy happiness with money.

A report released by Origins of happiness says when we drop mental health issues our happiness increases by 20%. But when we end poverty our happiness would increase by only 5% which means mental health is far more vital than poverty to our happiness. If you tackle your mental health issues your happiness is 4 times more than overcoming poverty.

“Happiness is not based on achievement. It is not at the destination, it is on the journey" a well-known spiritual speaker BK Shivani says.

To all you who have not been in the light of this knowledge, I ask you to try thinking and introspecting on this a little. It’s amazing to realize the fact about what actually you are lagging.

This post covers all the basic awareness that one needs to understand mental health. There are few questions, a few statistics and facts, and some tips that might help.

Why mental health is important?

It is often neglected because of the stigma that is around mental health. People lack basic knowledge in being compassionate towards mentally suffering people. They misunderstand them and judge them which affects their esteem.

It has an Influence in many areas of life; psychological, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Also can impact your happiness.

Why is mental health important for happiness?

As mentioned above, mental health influences many areas of our life so mental stability and happiness are bonded. In this pursue many have tried balancing and actually came up with real ways to be in that divine state. But the more we try to make a formula, the further we get!!

Happiness is understood as pleasure, being engaged, and life satisfaction which I don’t agree with.

The relationship between the importance of happiness and mental health outcomes. Whether the relationship between happiness and mental health is moderated by the importance individuals place on happiness. Happiness and to a lesser extent, the importance of happiness, are associated with mental health outcomes.

Achievements could make us feel great at first but that thrill vanishes with time. You must have heard of the term Hedonic Adaption. It conveys the tendency of human emotions to return to their earlier stable level of happiness. Despite such major positive or negative events or changes that occur in life.

It is fact that mental health and the pain it bears are not visible to others, so it is often misunderstood even so it exists and hurts the one who has it.

When you break your toes or finger that is visible but when you are in anguish it’s not visible to others (unless to an experienced one). And there are barely a few devices that can be used to determine that.

If someone lacks anxiety and depression also doesn’t mean that he is mentally healthy there are more to know

Changes to sleeping and eating habits: One may find a change in his or her sleeping pattern and appetite may also be affected.

Mood swings: It affects your ability to carry on with daily tasks or your relationships with others. It is hard to spot the reason for sudden mood changes, I, myself tried understanding this, but could never conclude why it happen.

Consumption of addictive substances: In low moments understanding the emotions one has is difficult. To be freed from this he chooses things that take him away from his consciousness. He uses alcohol and adapts other addictive things and habits to get rid of that pain even if that’s for a while.

Many even take this step which saddening to family and to the world. It’s the ultimate symptom one can spot for any mental illness.

Tips to strengthen your mental health

One of the reasons we sometimes get into a funk—and we all do from time to time—is that we make “thinking errors.”. Before I get to the facts and tips here is a wise fact you may consider:

Types of thoughts: Positive, Neutral, Waste, and Negative.

However this may sound to you, I encourage you to give a thought to this. Everyone is well aware and if not then please read lovely that thoughts are sources of every emotion and thing in this world. All that exists, right from the thought of having a life and taking breathe to building multi-stories.

Positive thoughts are needed and must have a feeling you will be comfortable with.

It boosts your energy lets you be content with the moment.

Rest I will discuss in a later part.

The tips I am sharing could be different and not doable for many. But at the same, there are many that everyone can bring into practice to live a happy life.

You need to take control and responsibility for the situation. If you are not feeling good with how your life is right now; you need to take the necessary actions to live a fulfilling life.

Train your brain to be more positive

Focusing on helping others and living with meaning, practicing volunteering and kindness. These add more to your happiness.

Take better care of your health, audit your own views on mental health, and build a support network with people to stable your anxiety.

Adopt healthy daily habits and develop coping skills to help you in being flexible with changes.

The best you could do is to understand your thinking style and do the needed!

Express gratitude

In life, one way to be happy is to be grateful for what you have in your hand, whatever you had. Expressing your gratitude helps you be more content with the present and present situations and people in your life.

You could be in the worse situation of your life, but there are little things that you can be grateful for if you are still breathing and alive.

It is very well said and proven that the more you are happy with what you have now the better you attract in your life.

Well, you can do the following to express gratitude.

  • Give sincere thanks
  • Keep a gratitude journal
  • Count your blessings
  • Write a letter of gratitude

From Past

Moving on is difficult, everyone feels that. Past means it is passed on to present. what is time, it is only the present that exists, so when you term a time "past". It means that you're no more in that time.

Many have harsh experiences in their life that might seem unforgettable, moving on might be a little bit more difficult for you. But let me tell you it is still possible.

Find the positive in a negative event from your past, this helps. You can try.

Live in the moment and savor life’s pleasure: the more you savor the more universes give you to be savor.

Nurture and enjoy your relationship

The relationship is another crucial part of your life, which plays a major role in your happiness and mental stability. To maintain you have to put in some efforts.

Making a conscious effort to stay connected with someone you respect and love, makes your love more visible. It often compels the other to stay with you.

Why would one give up someone who treasures him?

Take out time from your busy schedule and invest quality time with the people you care about and offer sincere compliments about what you feel commendable about them. Expressing won’t let you regret it, I promise. Go for it and tell me how you feel.

And one thing to remember, though it is very natural to us, taking delight in the good fortune of others is what a loving one does.

Rituals you can trust

  • Meditate, I won’t tell much about this.
  • Adopt enjoyable daily rituals like making exercise a regular habit. Minimizing multi-tasking in your day-to-day activities.
  • Getting the sleep you need this one is a must.
  • Become mindful of everything you can think of, common you can at least try. I know you cannot be of everything because nobody does.
  • Schedule 'me time. This is the most important aspect you will look to and might want to take this back with you. In this time you can practice self-love, mirror talk, introspections. And feel nature.

Seek out happy people

People with whom you spent the most time have the most influence on your mental health. They are who create your environment. And sometimes not always you don’t have any control over your moods and choice seems really difficult. The environment is the cause of this.

Hope you got my point.

When is a good time to reach out for help?

An unhealthy mind will sooner or later manifest itself into an unhealthy body. A study revealed that some disorders can reduce life expectancy by up to 20 years. That’s more than heavy smoking. People suffering from mental illness are at higher risk of heart problems and early death. The list goes on, linking poor mental health to diabetes, osteoporosis, etc.

To avoid all these, the sooner the better it is!!

When small issues are not noticed by professionals even the one who could get the help won’t get it. This issue grows and one can develop anxiety and depression. Which again leads to addictions and severe mental health issues

Professionals are the most helpful to reduce mental anguish and finding fulfillment. with their help, you can cultivate stable happiness.

And the right time is now.

You can go to a psychologist for anything. Whatever it is you are struggling with. Nowadays people often do this to get understood and accepted.

Conclusion

Other than positive thoughts all types of thoughts are a waste of your energy and Every thought is creating our future . So there is a need for optimism.

"Needed is your presence and you"

The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, suffering, struggle, loss, and have found their way out of the depths...

Beautiful people do not just happen

Whatever you are going through, that must be hard, difficult!

I remind you, "You are not alone" and whatever it is today will all pass one day for sure!

People are out there to help you and professionals who are always there to help you with any kind of mental issues.

Believe that you are in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing. Everything will fall in place and it will be stable.
