Loving oneself , makes the beginning of a lifelong romance.

Loving oneself , makes the beginning of a lifelong romance.”

When talking about romance, people may think of their loved ones who might endow them with romantic enjoyments, such as bringing them flowers, taking them to dinner, lending them a shoulder, promising them a good future, etc.

In a short term, romance, accompanied by certain chemistry between two people, may go well to some extend.

But in the long run, putting too much of one's romantic anticipation on someone else do frustrate people.

That's how love tragedies happen in all parts of the globe.

As time goes by, when the one doesn't love you back as you expected, you may trap into a deep self-doubt and wonder what was going on wrong? Where did that romance go?

The facts are quite obvious.

But you may be reluctant to recognize that since the time you stake your happiness on others, you are destined to receive disillusionment as they turn their backs on you.

🌱Just as the saying goes:

Tighter you catch it, quicker you loose it.

Thus, for people who value romance most, the least thing they should do is to count on someone else and borrow happiness from their hands.

Actually, it is worth noting that a lifelong romance depends on no one but ourselves since we are the only ones who can bring the everlasting romantic enjoyments to our life journey.

Su Hei (A psychological therapist and a female writer) once said:

Learn to love oneself is a lifelong journey. No one is going to love you forever except yourself.

So learning how to love ourselves, without doubt, surpasses everything else in the world and is proved to be the necessity for reaping a lifelong romance, the romance that can never be discarded or destroyed by anyone else.

However, loving oneself is nothing less than an obscure conception.

Many people may deem it as doing something seemed 'appropriate', such as finding a decent job, getting married with a proper man or woman, being a good girl/boy all the time...

These will by no means be considered truly self-loving movements.

Actually, the genuine essence of loving oneself lies in caring deeply about one's own feelings, emotions, desires, passions, cowardice, happiness, etc., no matter how life circumstances become or what adversities he encounters.

I myself suggest that there are at least three feasible things to do for loving oneself and obtaining a lifelong romance.

a. 🌼 To do whatever you want, and leave others behind.

This means following your heart at anytime. If you don't like someone, then leave him; if you don't like something, then get rid of it; if you don't like the way you are living in, then change it ...

b.🌼 Allow yourself to be human.

Professor Talben Sharha from Harvard University came up with this idea in his course, which advocated that we are all flawed human-beings with certain degree of vulnerability, each of us will inevitably make mistakes in our daily life.

Allowing yourself to be human requires us to accept our every mistakes and demerits, embrace our cowardice and vulnerability, as well as treat ourselves with a full heart of generosity and kindness just as we do to strangers.

c. 🌼 Bring yourself all beautiful things in the world.

Flowers, rings, cakes, trips, candles, dresses ... All these beautiful things are luxuries if we beg them from others. But if we stop looking around and set out to look after our inner selves, they will come to our life naturally and then, turn into the basic matters we live by.

I am truly convinced that everyone is born with immense power to deal with all kinds of stuff in this planet, including the power to reap romance and happiness by making self-fulfilling efforts.

"Once you treat yourself with enormous patience and kindness, accept all your flaws and demerits, and never forget to bring yourself a bundle of beautiful flowers on the way home, you will definitely get closer to the everlasting romantic enjoyments along this life journey."
