Have you ever been asked what you would do if money wasn't an issue? It's one of those questions that most people dismiss because, let's face it, money is a factor. The cynics would ridicule you as naive or stupid, but you know deep down that you can start living your dream life.

Many people seem to be struggling to make ends meet. They work because they need a source of income to support themselves and their families. People establish themselves not only at work, but also in their personal relationships with friends and family. You can also know people who compromise their honesty and fundamental beliefs in order to get ahead.

That is why starting living your dream life is not naive or foolish; it is necessary.

It takes more than money to live your dreams. It's the conviction that you're living a life that's in line with your goals. Follow these seven steps if you're ready to let go of the doubts that force you to live your life according to others' standards.

1. Make a plan of action

Take the time to imagine what your life would be like if you want to learn how to start living your dreams.

This isn't your typical vision board. This type of visualisation necessitates the use of all of your senses.

To gain an edge, Olympians will visualize themselves competing in their actual event. Emily Cook, of the United States freestyle ski team, is quoted as saying she engaged all her senses in her visualization. She moves her body as if she is skiing down the slopes, she feels the air as it blows through her hair, and she hears the roar of the crowd as she crosses the finish line.

Olympians can better prepare for the moment by constantly fighting in their minds. This belief is backed up by research, which shows that visualising yourself working out will actually help you develop muscle. This is true for both athletes and non-athletes, as visualisation is a strong motivator.

2. Focus Your Attention

You'll need to change the way you see the world and every aspect of your life if you want to start living your dreams right now. Your beliefs shape your consciousness, and your consciousness shapes your reality, which is kept in check by the way your mind processes knowledge.

Every day, you are bombarded with millions of sensory stimuli, which your mind filters out to prevent you from going insane. The ones you get are the ones your mind thinks are important to you based on previous experiences.

One of the most common scenarios is when you buy a new vehicle. As soon as you buy the car, you begin to see it everywhere. Now, you're probably aware that not everyone bought the car on the same day as you, so what went wrong?

So, when you bought your new car, you told yourself, “This car is important to me.” As a consequence, your subconscious is now displaying the car that has always been there.

You should take steps to build your perfect life in the same way as you can change your filters based on the action of buying a new vehicle. When you take action, the mind will reveal new possibilities that have always existed (just outside of your previous filters).

3. Develop systems and processes

You're ready to change your attention to achieve your goals once you've developed the proper mentality to begin living your dream life.

Most people make the mistake of starting out enthusiastic, but then relying solely on discipline and determination to succeed. Your determination and discipline are finite resources that will dwindle over time. That is why, on average, people abandon their New Year's Resolutions 30 days after they begin. That is also why people on a diet can make healthy choices during the day but struggle miserably late at night.

This is why it's important to implement structures and processes that reduce the reliance on discipline and willpower. In the case of our dieter, it would be preferable if they threw away all of the sweets they no longer need.

When it comes to you and your ideal life, this is also real. You must be able to restrict your freedom to go back to your former life if you want to ensure that you follow through with your vision.

4. It's Important to Be Accountable

You would be more likely to continue if you are accountable to anyone or a party. We just want to be welcomed by others deep down. Even though this can often work against you, this is not one of those times.

It is more likely that you can achieve your target if you tell specific people about it. However, according to some reports, making it public and announcing it to everyone might reduce the chances of following through.

You may be shocked to learn that you are held accountable on a daily basis.

  • If the CEO requests a report, you will do everything in your power to please the CEO.
  • You would be more inspired to get in shape if you are invited to a class reunion.
  • If you know you'll be entertaining guests, you'll clean more thoroughly.

5. Identify a Change Catalyst

I liken the beginning of your journey to walking through a fog. Standing on the outside of the fog and attempting to see through to the other side would be difficult. However, if you are able to take the first few steps, you can notice that there are a few more steps through the fog that you will see.

If you are willing to keep walking, you will soon be able to see clearly because the fog will be behind you.

You have a vision of how you want your life to be, and you know how much work it would take to make it a reality. However, once you go through it, you won't know how reasonable your hopes are.

Last Thoughts

Living your dreams requires a significant amount of effort, but it will be well worth your time. Don't stress about things you can't control because life is short.

The stuff that most people regret the most are the things that they did not do. As a result, don't settle for anything less than your ideal life. Pursue it with zeal and determination.
