1. Open Your Curtains ASAP.

Opening your curtains/blinds brings the daylight into your room, which may help you wake up a bit easier. Especially in summer, the sunlight is bound to make you want to get up quicker, so that you can enjoy the most of your day while the sun is up.

2. Make Your Bed.

It is more than likely that your bed is the most used item of furniture in your house, so take pride in making it every morning! Why not start your morning with a sense of accomplishment? It doesn’t matter if you take a minute on it if you have a busy schedule or if you take five minutes smoothing out every crease. Not only does making your bed make your bedroom look tidier, but it also quenches the temptation to get back into an unmade bed.

3. Get A Drink.

Whether it’s tea, coffee, or water, make sure you’re keeping yourself hydrated in the morning! After spending hours asleep your body needs to be rehydrated. It is scientifically proven that drinking water in the morning helps fuel your brain, so if you have a long day ahead of you then you best start drinking!

4. Eat Breakfast.

Now, this tip obviously depends on what type of diet you have. If you’re an intermittent faster, then this probably doesn’t apply to you. However, many studies suggest that breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it helps you fuel your body. Depending on how much time you have, you may not get the chance to eat breakfast, but it is important that you try. Eating something will help you become a morning person, as it’ll give you the energy to start your day!

5. Write A To-Do List the Night Before

This little tip is bound to make you more of a morning person, as it stops any added stress developing at the start of your day. If you know you have a busy day then it makes sense to write a to-do list the night before so you’re clear about how you’ll day will go. It doesn’t matter if it’s quickly scribbled on an old receipt you found, or if it’s written neatly into a bullet journal; the main point is that you write down a plan to avoid the stress of doing it in the morning. It’ll make becoming a morning person an easy success!

6. Positive Affirmations.

Positive affirmations can take 30 seconds to up to however long you like. They’re a quick and easy way to help you become more of a morning person. Whether it involves you sitting in front of a mirror and saying to yourself “I’m strong, I’m confident and I know today is going to be a good day” or if it involves you mindlessly eating your breakfast and thinking “I’m glad that I’m alive, I’ve got through another day” EITHER is a really important thing to do. Reminding yourself to be positive is a significant step to creating a better day.

7. Remember: It’s Okay If You’re Not A Morning Person.

If you have read this article, and many like it, and you’re sitting thinking “this just isn’t me!” then that is perfectly okay. You don’t have to be a morning person to be the best version of yourself. Maybe you’re already the best version of yourself and you HATE mornings! (BTW it’s 100 percent okay to take advantage of a glorious lie-in and be a “oh what time is it… the afternoon?” person!) No method is the right method and only you know what is right for you. Truthfully, I am not much of a morning person, but with my boyfriend waking up early to go to work it is nearly impossible for me to escape the wrath of an early morning. So, I am trying to become more of a morning person and I’m hoping that me writing this will enlighten others about how to enjoy their mornings too!
