Happiness is a gift – Embrace it

Be happy!

Happiness is one of those things that everyone wants more of but doesn't know how or what to do about it. Across various countries and cultures, the majority of individuals claim that being happy is one of their most valued life goals—for themselves and, above all, for their children. Furthermore, happiness has several benefits, not only for the person who is happy, but also for his or her family, business, neighborhood, nation, and society.

Working on how to be happy, according to the research, will not only help a person feel better, but will also increase his or her energy, creativity, and immune system, promote better relationships, increase job productivity, and even contribute to a longer life.

At first look, this notion may appear frivolous or impractical, and it is undeniably easier said than done; yet, the fact is that we have a choice every day about how we interpret our environment and our circumstances. We may modify our connection to barriers in our way by seeing the “glass half full” attitude and attempting to discover the value of each circumstance by looking for possibilities.

Consider what you'll do the next time you face a problem or an impediment. Take a deep breath and see this stumbling block as an opportunity. Is there a lesson you can learn, a new method of doing something you hadn't considered before, or a chance to practice a new skill?

Without our phones or electronics with us at all times, our daily lives seem incomplete. While this might offer us a wealth of knowledge, it can also present us with constant access to other people's lives.

We are constantly inundated with information on how we "should" appear, "should" act, and "should" achieve, whether it comes from our friends on social media or celebrity photos or stories. We end up comparing our lives to the ideal pictures and snatches of other people's lives that we see on social media. The truth is that we are comparing our lives to a well-manufactured image of others, which is detrimental to our health and pleasure.

Compassion toward others is one thing, but for some of us, kindness toward ourselves is far more difficult. We have a set of standards that we adhere to that are more severe than those of others. We are less forgiving of mistakes and are more likely to engage in negative self-talk and criticism.

We may alter our inner dialogue to a more compassionate and loving discussion by acknowledging that imperfection is the norm and that we are not alone when it comes to pain.

When we are anxious or sad, one of the first things we do is distance ourselves from people. Positive connections and social support are critical components of total pleasure. Spending time with people we care about and making an effort to keep connected might help us be happier. Set up frequent coffee meetings, dinners, or movie dates with folks with whom you have a strong bond.

Finally, meditation may be used to practice awareness. You may also accomplish this by just pausing to breathe and become more aware of your surroundings. It's a different approach to maximizing happiness. Take time to be present in the present moment and slow down each day instead of brooding on the past or focused on the future.

Start with simple tasks like taking a shower or doing the dishes, when you may intentionally pay attention to all parts of what you're doing, seeing, hearing, smelling, and feeling at any one time. Thus, happiness is a gift that we all should embrace without open arms!
