Getting Motivated

Six things that you can do to get motivated every morning!

Think of every day as a fresh slate! Although sometimes, you have to admit, you feel sluggish and have no energy. Why? Could it be too much sleep? Not the proper amount of exercise? Not enough nutrition? It could be all those things.

Here are some of the things I do in the morning to feel fresh and to get motivated. After I brush my teeth, I comb my hair then start some exercises. When you exercise it wakes your body, stimulates your mind, as well as your muscles. I do the same exercises every morning and evening, though the workouts vary for everyone depending on what you wish to accomplish. I handpicked about nine workouts that are fast and simple and it takes about fifteen minutes to complete them. 60 jumping jacks, a one-minute long plank, 30 butt bridges, 16 legs ups, 30 bent knee crunches, 120 skipping without a rope, 20 Russian twists, then 30 seconds per side of side lying twist, and 30 seconds of the famous downward dog to cool off and just chill.

Next, wear nice clothes. When you wake up and stay in pajamas you tend to feel lazier. When you wear baggy or stained clothes it makes you feel bad about yourself, no matter who you are. But when you change into comfortable, yet nicer clothing you tend to feel better about whom you are. So wear nicer clothes then just rags to start each day!

Thirdly, drink at least a glass of water, as your body has been on a fast all night. When you are ready to eat don’t eat junk food first thing in the morning. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That may be true and it might not be, either way, eating something healthy with protein is best. Start your metabolism on a good note. Since your metabolism has been sleeping all night it has a harder time processing a bunch of sugar than it would an apple or an egg. So another way to get motivated is to eat healthily.

Fourthly, don't be lazy. It will help that you exercise but you still need to accomplish something or you will look back on a day wasted. Do laundry, mow the lawn, or take your dog for a walk. Do not, I repeat DO NOT plop down on your couch and watch TV and play video games all day. That will ruin all that you have done.

Next thing is to read. Reading is a wonderful way to build vocabulary, gain knowledge, and a marvelous way to reduce stress! Keep in mind I only mentioned three benefits of reading, and there are many more you should look into. Though you might say "I'm not really a reader, I just don't like doing it." All I can say is you must like SOMETHING and there is a book for EVERYTHING! Surely you can find a topic you will enjoy reading about. Be it fantasy, adventure, fiction, or nonfiction. There is a book for everyone!

Finally, don't fall back. Keep a strong face and persist in your morning routine. What good is it to feel better for a while and then just go right back to where you were? Be strong and continue, and NEVER quit!

I promise you, make your routine and stick to it and you will feel and be better in no time. :)

One more thing, remember that each routine is different for everyone. Mine may be too hard or strenuous, or it may be too easy. That all depends on you, so don't feel out of place if you feel like you can't keep up with this large change at once, add some little by little if need be. Just remember, BE CONSISTENT, and don't quit and soon it will become a habit. They say habits are formed in just 21 days if you have the will and mind power to stick to it!
