What is holding us back? Everyone understands what this is correct? That thing inside of us. That inner dialogue/little voice in our heads. That switch we're afraid to turn on but will ultimately help us grow for the better. Every human being has one and majority of us are too pussy to flick it on.

The FUCK IT SWITCH.

It's highly understandable though. We're never taught to think for ourselves. Told to fall in line and bow down to the status quo of society and all of it's bullshit rhetoric. Go to school they say, be a good boy or good girl. After that get a "good job" (whatever the fuck that is). Oh no it doesn't stop there, get married just because.

Although marriage and commitment to the one you love is a beautiful thing, it should be done for the right reasons and not out of pressure. If there's one thing hopefully we as humans have learned from the global pandemic is that we should live life striving for our higher selves and capabilities. Yes, it can be a bit cliche but we tend to overlook the mentality of keeping it simple. Life was not meant to be as complicated as it is. Personally speaking I can only elaborate of the system of capitalism here in America and not the rest of the world.

Capitalism.

Let's talk about that word. First off it goes hand in hand with racism although we can save that convo for another time. For we can discuss how it not only impacts our everyday lives, but also keeps us afraid. It keeps us away from our home lives because we are constantly grinding, working, and participating in toxic hustle culture. It's amazing because most who encourage this never had to work a day in their life but your labor keeps them fat, rich, and wealthy. The day you release mental shackles is the day you truly become free.

Again, due to the effects of COVID-19 majority of us have gotten a chance to spend more time with loved ones or not depending on who is a high risk individual. With things seeming as though they are returning "back to normal" , most will pick up where they left off. Why should this be? Should there not be more of a work/life balance? Many will agree and many will disagree. This way of living places many of us into a state of comfort. The thing about comfort is that it follows with fear.

Fear to live the life you'd rather be living, whatever it may be. A fear to fulfill your life's purpose. Furthermore, let's address our personal relationships. Oftentimes we are afraid to do the things we would like because of the opinions of others (Family, friends, colleagues, etc).

They believe they know best and you should respectfully disagree and just do you.

No one can teach you how to do you.

With this said you must remind yourself that it is you who has to look yourself in the mirror everyday. It is you who has to go on each day with a burning desire to create the lifestyle or profession you wish to embody. Everyday you chose not to is another day your soul will suffer. When it gets to that point, this is where you need to tell yourself "fuck it".

Who cares? Not you right?

Even this article was written with a "fuck it" mentality. Sometimes when writing you need to just feel and not think.

Which reminds me, not to get too off topic but director Christopher Nolan's latest film Tenet (2020) which is worth more than one viewing is a "fuck it" film. As an avid fan of cinema, Nolan purposely created a film for movie buffs and not critics. The point was to reconnect with that feeling of a cinematic experience. The tagline of the film explains it all.....

"Don't try to understand it. Feel it."

Stop giving a shit what anyone thinks or how they feel about you. People will always project their insecurities onto you no matter what. Now some will argue they can not drop everything and go after what they want. Maybe not at the moment, but with a little day to day consistency of working towards those goals will eventually lead you into the life you want. The key to working towards that is believing it is already yours. Live as though you have already reached the destination and enjoy the adventure.

Most of us underestimate the power of perspective. The way you view things will ultimately shape things within your favor or against you depending on your attitude. Adding perspective with doing, effort, and consistency will launch you closer to what you want from outta life.

It's understandable to feel discouraged if you are someone who has already done this by flipping on your switch.

Don't be.

We understand it's difficult my friends. Going through the process can be rough but the reward will taste so sweet!
