What is it that scares us? That keeps us from becoming our true selves? It's that stagnant energy and universal emotion that everyone can relate to.

FEAR.

We allow it to control most of if not our entire lives. We let it consume us along with dictating some of our important life decisions that should be more rooted in logic. Being in survival mode doesn't help either, your fight or flight can take over if it is not directed constructively. As humans it is natural for us to fear something as it can protect and keep us more alert. Most of our common fears such as the loss of a loved one, poverty, and death are very normal compared to the ones we make up within our imagination.

Let's discuss "3 Ways to rid yourself of fear."

#3. Challenge the thought which creates fear

By Mathew Schwartz on Unsplash

Believe it or not, majority of the thoughts we create from fear stem of past energy or things that haven't even happened and most likely will not. The next time you feel yourself becoming afraid o something, take the time to stop and think for a minute. Whatever that trigger is that arises when you are frightened ask yourself...

"Why are you afraid?

What are you afraid of and why do you feel this way?"

When you stop to consider these issues your brain will subconsciously shift to the side of logic and begin working. Sooner than you realize you will be so consumed on attacking obstacles and forget why you were even afraid in the first place.

Which leads us into our next point.....

#2. Become solution based

By Olav Ahrens Røtne on Unsplash

There are many habits we come equipped with naturally as human beings. One of them is to focus on problems which is one of the many things that keep us alive but also stunt our growth. Simply speaking it is always necessary to get to the root of an issue no matter the scale. It's not always that simple though. Oftentimes we know exactly what a problem is or what is causing that but there is a tendency to dwell on that problem.

The moment you identify what the issue is at it's core it is then time to move on to solving that issue. When you lead with a solution based mentality you will never consider problems because you won't have time to think about them. One way you can rewire your mind into becoming more solution based is to not say or tell yourself,

"I can't do this or I don't know how I can do this"

Is to instead tell yourself "How can I solve this or What is the most practical way I can get this done or get through whatever it is you may be dealing with.

We take words for granted and underestimate their power.

Once you think or speak a negative thought out loud you've lost. You already set yourself up for failure.

Here are a few ways you can try this by replacing these terms..

"I can't" with "I'm having difficulty with"

"That won't work" with "I will find a way"

"I'm afraid" with "I control me and my thoughts"

This is not to encourage you to suppress your emotions whatever they may be but to own, conquer, and rise above them. When we discover to power to center our emotions and be in full control over our actions an re-actions then we will see significant growth that will change the way you view things. Perspective is not only everything but it is power.

There is power in perspective.

#1. Do the thing you want to but are afraid of

By Jakob Owens on Unsplash

Sometimes we don't realize how much we can get in our own way. We can trap ourselves into becoming evolved versions of us and tapping into our individual purpose. Most will agree that one of the main if not only reason for this is the fear of what others say or think. There are so many things as people that we'd rather be doing with our lives but we fear judgement. Why is that?

Although it's understandable that some of our loved ones approval means something to us but ultimately it is you who has to live your life and look in the mirror everyday.

For example someone who is a defense attorney in high demand may just want to become a home chef and create online content. That nurse who's been earning a good living may just want to travel the world and do independent missionary work. It doesn't really matter what you want to do. What matters is how something makes you feel.

They say happiness is the key to life which personally speaking is hard to disagree with but we never mention the thing that leads to being happy and that is excitement. Excitement gets us out of bed in the morning, it keeps you up all night because you look forward to the next day. It creates a carefree environment that can not be penetrated by unwanted or negative energies.

One way we can tap into that excitement factor is to become a kid again. Think about how careless you were about the outside world and focused on what made you excited and happy. If there is something in your life you have always thought about doing but are afraid to, it's usually saying you probably should just go and figure out a way to make it happen!

Action exposes fear for what it is....a mirage.
