Wash Those Addictions Away

Breaking habits... losing addictions... starting "fresh"... it's all cliche isn't it? Everyone has different ideas of what "breaking habits" really means and how to easily do it. I've read plenty of ways to help with copeing, changing and renewing a new lifestyle of happiness and purity. I've even tried plenty of them, only to come of no fruition...

...which is why I'm here with a plan that I've used, and I've seen tremendous progress with. It has a lot to do based on self-decision, but it also has to do with self-disgust. Decision from disgust, decision into action, action into reaction, and reaction into results and an inner sense of accomplishment, happiness, and motivation for your future.

1.) Disgust: You have to become disgusted with your current situation and about who you are and what you've been doing. It has to hit you hard enough to allow yourself to feel that you're not in control of your life, and that whatever addiction you're facing is pulling you down to the absolute bottom.

2.) Decision: After you feel the disgust, Decision is the prime response. Without decision, disgust is merely a daily feeling which can and has led into cases of depression. Been there, done that. Decision is the catapult you need to ignite into a daily habit of life changing momentum.

3.) Action: Once you make the decision, you have to physically act on it. A decision without action is a horse carriage without a horse. The world does not care about what you WILL do, but you have done and ARE doing. Create a plan, write down the goal at the top, and then describe below it how you're going to reach it. What steps are there to get where you want to go, and what you do you need to do to break those habits or addictions to create room for healthy and strong habits.

4.) Reaction: Action is the car, reaction is the gas that keeps it continuing down the road to it's destination. Once you form a plan and start Acting on it, now is the time to set continuous reactions, meaning daily actions over and over again until you get it down to the T. Continue your reactions until it becomes habit, and once that happens, your good actions become an addiction because you do it over and over again.

When I say addiction.. I'm not just talking about just the major talked about addictions. I'm talking about everything from drugs, over-eating, porn, and inactivity all the way to not being disciplined enough to wake up on time for school or work, or keeping your days planned out, or even setting a specific amount of time aside to meal prep or start a new workout session because you hate what you see in the mirror. I'm talking about EVERY single habit, addiction, and action that you know or feel is detrimental to your life goals and plans. You are not alone in your endeavor to be better. 2020 has been one hell of a year so far, with a worldwide pandemic sweeping ever so fast, to economies and jobs dropping out of the sky in seconds, to celebrities dying left and right. It doesn't have to be only a year of depression and negativity. It's your decision to start now, be disgusted by your current situation and change it for the better. There's plenty of people out there reading this and thinking exactly like you are right now. Get started, you will only regret NOT trying. You'll never know the outcome if you never give it a shot.
