30 Journal Entries to Self Discovery - Day 22

What talent can I do with ease?

30 Journal Entries to Self Discovery - Day 22

Hey Y'all and welcome to day twenty-two! Thanks for bearing with me through that double feature yesterday. Just a lot of craziness this week and no possible way to control it. Hope you had fun with it yesterday! Here's the quote of the day: "Quantity produces quality. If you only write a few things, you're doomed." - Ray Bradbury (Yeah, I really like him, can you tell?)

DAY TWENTY-TWO: What talent can I do with ease?

I would love to tell you the talent I can do with ease but I'm pretty sure they would censor my posts from now on if I described it. Just kidding. I have yet to get a complaint though. Again, this is part of my humor. If you don't know my humor you're probably completely lost by now. That's probably a good thing though because if you're not completely lost you're either laughing or horrified. My humor isn't the most appropriate in certain situations.

The talent I can do with ease is that I am completely awesome at making people feel very uncomfortable in any and every situation. Now, I didn't get here by myself. This is from years of practice and training. And a few very inappropriate lifelong friends. I am great at finding people's easy weak points. Again, I'm just kidding. Kind of. I am actually pretty good at this without trying. I once made a cop so uncomfortable that he actually unhandcuffed me and let me go. That, my friends, is the benefits of tequila and a no-holding-back personality. But again, this isn't my talent... I don't think.

I honestly have to put thought into this. This is legitimately kind of hard. I'm afraid I don't know what I'm naturally good at. Is that a bad thing? People should probably know their natural talents, right? I try at a lot of things and I'm still not very good at them. I've been trying to learn how to knit for like four months now. I can relate to people very easily but that's about it. I'm not really sure if that's actually considered a talent either. I'm pretty good at finding something to talk about with pretty much anyone, no matter how weird. I'm good at relating to people on a personal level. I guess that would be the talent that I can do with ease. My wide array of friends and watching my dad while I was growing up is pretty much how I gained those skills. He's the most social person I know. We're kind of the same in that way. We pretty much hate everyone, but we're very good at being polite in social situations.

Again, not really sure that that's an actual talent. But I can talk to people very easily without putting in a lot of effort. I still say that making people feel uncomfortable is a talent. I think the vast majority of normal people would disagree with me though. But on top of enjoying watching people squirm in my presence, I'm also very good at making conversation and cracking jokes that are appropriately formulated for whatever group I seem to find myself in. I'm good at adjusting to the group around me, quickly and effortlessly.

My thoughts: I think this was a great self-discovery question for the mere fact that I actually had to put some real thought into it. I seriously had trouble trying to figure out what talent I am effortlessly good at. I even asked a couple of my close friends what they thought. This is a question that genuinely requires some thought about your self. Definitely, a good self-discovery question.
