You need it when the world goes crazy

Essentials you need to stay sane when the world goes mad.

The world we're living in turned into one big chaos within a few weeks. I mean, who would have thought at the beginning of 2020 that by now we would see borders closing, schools shutting down, people excessively buying pasta and toilet paper or canceled flights to anywhere in the world, but here we are... and this is the real world. How can you stay sane during this hectic time? How can we stay positive when 99% of the news shared by media worldwide is negative? Health is probably the most important thing in life. Without it, we wouldn't be able to enjoy any other aspects of living. Let's focus on our mental and physical well-being then, shall we?

1. NANO-COLLOIDAL SILVER

No matter if I'm well, sick or feel like I'm about to be sick I use my nano-colloidal silver. Silver has been utilized as a medicine since ancient times. Nano-colloidal silver is a suspension of pure metallic silver in water, that is used to dramatically reduce the activity of the HIV in AIDS patients, slow down the ravages of the hepatitis C virus and combat other viruses in general. It works by interfering with the enzymes that allow a virus to utilize oxygen thus, in essence, suffocating it so it cannot do damage in the body. It is more expensive than hand sanitizer but it does so much more as well... Out of curiosity, I asked a few days ago at a local PHARMACY about the availability and prices of hand sanitizers. They are selling these tiny little bottles for £10 each in London now. My advice: get yourself a bottle of nano-colloidal, non-chemical silver spray with concentration 50ppm and spray your hands, face and even your phone regularly just to be safe.

2. WASH YOUR HANDS

I mean, duh. Nothing ground-breaking here. Based on the research and experiment by the University of Maryland washing your hands with soap and water is the first choice, especially if you have visible dirt on your hands. Sanitizer can't cut through it. Hand sanitizers are great for when you can't get to soap and water (especially ones with 60-95% of alcohol), and it's more effective at eliminating germs because it kills them rather than just removing them. So, basically wash your hands as often as possible and whenenever you're using for instance public transport use a sanitizer or a nono-colloidal silver spray. Also, avoid touching your face, handshakes, and pay contacless whenever possible.

3. ECHINACEA AND GRAPEFRUIT SEED OIL

The herb Echinacea is supportive of the immune system and has a direct anti-viral action against colds and viral bronchitis. Preparations that include both the roots and the flowering tops are the most effective at helping the body resist the viruses. Echinacea affects the immune system, your body's defense against germs. Research shows it increases the number of white blood cells, which fight infections. A grapefruit seed extract has been widely used as a dietary supplement because of its many bioactivity properties, including antioxidant, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, anti-inflammation and antimicrobial effects. It contains a large number of phenolic compounds, including gallic acid, epicatechin, dimeric procyanidin, and proanthocyanidins that are suggested to be the major bioactive components against many diseases.

4. FOCUS ON YOURSELF AND WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO YOU

It might be an unpopular opinion but I think that the overall craziness and panic of the past few weeks will eventually pass. Hopefully whenever possible now we all decide to stay home and take care of one another. Some of us can't go to work, to class or to a favorite restaurant. It's a time for all of us to think about what makes us happy. What are the things we miss the most? It's also a great time to do all the things we keep postponing. For instance, I always wanted to write a pilot of a TV series. Now, that we are all home much more than in the past I can finally get my head around it. Read a book, work from home (if possible, in my case it's not an option, unfortunately) have a movie night, learn to cook, spend time with your family, call your auntie, ask your older family member or a neighbor if they need help with their groceries. Once we learn how to do things low-key and stop constantly oversharing everything we do on social media we will respect and appreciate all the ordinary things we keep missing in everyday life. We always really appreciate things once they are gone.

5. WATCH A GOOD MOVIE

It doesn't even have to be good, as long as it makes you feel good! When the media essentially begs us to be depressed we need to keep our mental sanity. Instead of reading yet the same news over and over again give yourself a little break and watch a feel-good movie. Anything directed by Nancy Meyers will do. Watch good old "Holiday" with fierce Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet or "The Intern" with Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. "No Reservations" directed by Scott Hicks will make you laugh and cry at the same time. Few other feel-good titles that I would recommend watching: 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' (2012), 'Music and Lyrics' (2007), 'Bad Teacher' (2011), 'Little Miss Sunshine' (2006), 'The Proposal' (2009), 'The Intouchables' (2011).

7. STOP OVER-BUYING. STOP PANICKING.

People around the world are reacting to the new and dangerous threat of the coronavirus in their own ways. But there is one response that has seemingly transcended borders and cultures: the panic over-buying things such as toilet paper. Fear is very contagious. So when those sorts of things go viral, when you see people around you buying things in a panicky way, it’s going to make you feel more anxious. When you buy 10 packs of kitchen roll or 20 loafs of bread you're acting really selfish and probably some older and more vulnerable people won't be able to buy even 1 pack of essential goods after few people who do the same thing. Don't even get me started about food waste... Pictures of bread, cheese, vegetables in the bin not even touched because long after expiry date... Luckily, some supermarkets have banned over-shopping and put quantity limits on certain products such as toilet paper or soap. Be responisble and considerate.
