Simple Spells for Beginners
Spells for Baby Witches
In my expericance, life is way too busy to pour over spell books looking for an easy spell. Using my personal Book of Shadows, I have prepared a few DIY spells just for you. Most items can be found at your local dollar store!
Gratitude Spell
Light a white candle dipped in olive oil and sprinkle the top with rosemary. Set your intention of Gratitude. Use a piece of paper to draw or write what makes you grateful. Burn your gratitude paper with the candle, being mindful not to burn yourself or anything else.
Positivity Spell
Set your intention of an Abundance of Positivity flowing to you. Place salt, mint, lavender, cinnamon, and a rock, crystal, or gemstone in a jar of your choice. Seal with wax from a candle dipped in olive oil. Tap the spell jar 5 times. Place in an area you can see the abundance jar daily. Shake jar to attract more positive vibes to you.
Anti-Stress Spell
Light a white candle dipped in olive oil and sprinkle the top with rosemary. Set your intention of dispelling any stress and anxiety surrounding you. Place salt, rosemary, thyme, a rose petal, and quartz in a jar of your choice. Seal the jar with candle wax and tap 5 times. Keep the jar near you.
Tranquility Bath
Place Himalayan Pink salt or Epson salt, lavender, and rose petals, in a warm bath. Set your intention of tranquility. Light a Pink candle dipped in olive oil, sprinkled with rosemary and salt. Soak in your tranquility bath for as long as you choose.
Return Lost Pet Spell
On a piece of paper, write the missing pet's name. Set your intention to find your pet. Say " Paw, Claw, Scale, Feather, or Tail, I Know we will find each other again. 'Pets name' return to me." Repeat with force. Find a stone to represent your lost pet, place the paper on your altar, and set the stone on paper. Leave on the altar until the pet returns.
Honey Money Spell
Light a green candle dipped in olive oil with your name and a $ symbol carved on it. Write your name on a piece of paper or use a business card with your name on it. Place the paper or card into a jar of honey. Add a chunk of iron pyrite, basil, cloves, a cinnamon stick, and a few grains of rice. Seal with green candle wax. Keep it anywhere you want, but recharge it next to a green candle monthly.
Family Peace Spell
You will need to collect stones to represent each family member. Place the family of stones in a bowl of water. Dip a floating candle in olive oil and sprinkle with lavender. Float the candle in the bowl of water and say, " As this flame burns, my family is filled with peace. Joy and harmony surround my family. We shall prevail. So mote it be." Let the candle burn until it goes out on its own.
Egg Home Protection Spell
Set your intention and light a white candle that has been dipped in olive oil.
In a bowl of salt, roll a beautiful egg. Rinse in moon water. Draw a picture of your home or write your address on the egg. Poke a hole in both ends of the egg and blow out the egg. Hang the egg in a safe location in your yard. Blessed Be.
Full Moon Water
Place a glass jar of purified water out under the full moon overnight. Bring inside before the sun's rays touch it. You can use the moon water all month in many spells and rituals.
Abundance Spell Jar
You will need a yellow candle, spell jar, nutmeg, mint, cinnamon, and rosemary. Light the candle and set your intention of abundance. Place nutmeg, mint, cinnamon, and rosemary in your spell jar. Seal your abundance jar with yellow candle wax. Tap your jar 4 times and say: "So mote it be." Keep near you and recharge each month under the Full Moon.
Money Spell Jar
Gather cinnamon, spearmint, ginger, basil, dill seed, green candle, spell jar, and 3 or 4 grains of rice. Light the candle and set your intention of attracting money. Add the cinnamon, spearmint, ginger, basil, dill seed, and rice to your spell jar. Seal with green candle wax and tap 6 times. Say; " So mote it be." Place the jar in a sacred area. As with all spell jars, recharge under the full moon each month.
Health Spell Jar
Cinnamon, poppy seed, allspice, nutmeg, a spell jar, and a pink candle are needed for this spell jar. Light the candle and set your intention of good health. Place the cinnamon, poppy seed, allspice, and nutmeg into the jar. Seal with pink candle wax and tap jar 4 times. Say: "So mote it be." Keep this jar on you and recharge under each full moon.
Family Protection Spell Jar
Pick out a medium-sized spell jar that you can display comfortably in your living area. Light the blue candle and state your intention of family protection. Place vanilla, cinnamon, mint, and poppy seed into the spell jar. Write each family member's name on a separate piece of paper and place it in your jar. Seal the jar with blue candle wax and tap 4 times. State: "So mote it be!" Display the family spell jar in your living area, shake the jar occasionally to replenish energy. Recharge under the full moon monthly.
Protection Spell Jar
Gather angelica, garlic, basil, mint, and cinnamon. , blue candle, and a spell jar. Light the candle and set your intention of protection. Place the angelica, garlic, basil, mint, and cinnamon into your spell jar. Seal the protection spell jar with blue candle wax. Tap 5 times and say; " So mote it be." Place the jar in a sacred area. Recharge under the full moon each month.
Well-Being Spell Jar
Coriander, poppy seed, angelica, allspice, cinnamon, a spell jar, and a yellow candle are needed for this spell. Light the candle and set your intention of well-being. Place the coriander, poppy seed, angelica, allspice, and cinnamon into the jar. Seal with yellow candle wax and tap the jar 5 times. Say: "So mote it be." Keep this jar on you and recharge under each full moon.
I hope you are able to incorporate many of these easy spells into your craft. Magic is intentional, so if you do not have the exact items listed, you can substitute them or subtract anything you need. Set your intention and so mote it be!
