When it comes to nutrition there are no quick fixes or miracles in a bottle. There are, however, certain foods that pack a lot more nutrition than others and are considered super foods. One of these is parsley which is a species of flowering plant that is native to the central and eastern Mediterranean regions. Perhaps you thought this was nothing more than a garnish but keep reading and you will be pleasantly surprised. Parsley can be found growing in Israel, Sardinia, Spain, Turkey, Algeria, Greece, Lebanon, southern Italy, Cyprus, Portugal, Malta, Morocco, and Tunisia. Parsley is not a seasonal food so you can purchase it all year long. Parsley flakes will be found on the spice aisle in most grocery stores.

Parsley has also naturalized elsewhere in Europe, and is widely cultivated as a vegetable as well as an herb. In America many people grow it in pots inside their homes. Parsley is considered to be a super food because of its many benefits. If you find you don’t like the taste you might want to sprinkle parsley flakes over meals. I use it in garden salads, soup and even sprinkle the flakes on snacks. V8 and other vegetable juices also have parsley as an ingredient. Parsley also is reported to have many healthy benefits. It is recommended that you partake of this herb on a daily basis to find out how it benefits your body.

It has a compound called Myristicin which helps in prevention of tumors in the area of the lungs and is believed to boost the immune system and also relieve arthritis pain. Parsley has antibacterial properties, nutrients that protect eyesight and is also beneficial for bone health. Parsley fights infections, and anemia, purifies the blood , relieves diarrhea, and maintains the health of blood vessels. Parsley prevents gallstones, edema, and men steal cramps. It also aids digestion and dissolved cholesterol. This herb is said to cure night blindness, treat ear infections and gallstones.

Parsley also has amazing benefits for the skin. It relieves dandruff, promotes hair growth, prevents hair loss, makes hair silky, maintains natural hair, makes hair silky, and prevents lice. It cleanses skin pores, prevents wrinkles, controls aging, repairs skin cells, treats jaundice, balanced hormones and cures kidney issues.
