My Weight Loss Journey

I started my weight loss journey about two weeks ago and I have already seen a difference. When I first started a weighed 15 stone, 9 3/4lbs. I weighed myself today and I have reached 15 stone, 0 3/4lbs. That is a total difference of 9lbs. That is amazing.

I know it is still in early stages, but I feel so different and I have found myself to have more energy and clearer skin. I bet you are wondering how I have managed to lose 9 pounds in 2 weeks.

I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't know about nutrition or even how to exercise properly as I was never interested in being healthy. I researched around different diets and none of them seemed to work. Over the years, I have tried so many diets.

For example, the Keto diet, 5:2 Diet, and a smoothie diet. That is when I realised that no diet can change me but it is healthy eating and exercising that will benefit me in the long run. I decided to cut out lactose and carbs from my diet. So this means I would not eat cheese or drink milk or any form of dairy product. I instantly felt a change.

I did not feel as bloated. All the calories that I would have consumed by eating dairy I consumed by eating fruit and veggies. This made me more full after meal times.

Also, I would cut out carbs from my diet such as bread, potatoes, and pasta. This also eliminated the bloated feeling. I would cut out processed food because they are all full of salt and fats that your body will store as fat and will be harder to shift. Instead, I would start to cook my own meals and lower my calorie intake. Foods that I would cook are stir fry, Portobello mushrooms and roasted vegetables.

Alongside my diet, exercise was my new best friend. I would practice yoga as well as walking. Whenever I would go to see my boyfriend I would walk there to burn off more calories and to get fitter.

This journey was 2 1/2 miles from where I live. It would save me money from not getting the bus and would get me a lot fitter sooner. The more exercise you do, the quicker the pounds will drop. Walking is the best type of exercise anyone can do. It will not cost any more and you can do it at any part of the day.

I would drink mainly tea and water to accompany my diet. However, instead of using milk in my tea I would use soy or almond milk because it is a far healthier option. Water is also great for you as it helps flush out to toxins in your body making you have flawless skin and a cleaner body inside and out. By cutting out fizzy drinks and alcohol you will not be drinking away your calories and it does not quench your thirst. Alcohol just carries empty calories and is not very good for your health.

I am far from reaching my weight loss goal but I am feeling happier and fitter. I would definitely recommend giving it a go, because it will help your health in the long run. I will keep you updated while on my journey and I hope to inspire more people with this blog.

By doing something about your health now, you will help fight off diseases and you will feel a lot better about yourself. I hope to continue on my journey until I weight at least 12 stone as my starting weight. I will be so happy the day that I reached this weight.
