My attempts to lose weight

Since the beginning of the month, I have weighed myself every other day on a digital scale that can weigh up to 150 kilograms (331 lbs). It has not been simple, but my objective is to lose 40 pounds. Here are a few weight-loss strategies I've been using.

My attempts to lose weight

I am exercising like this to lose weight.

Eve here. I just turned 21 years old, and this year, I want to lose a few pounds.

Since the beginning of the month, I have weighed myself every other day on a digital scale that can weigh up to 150 kilograms (331 lbs). It has not been simple, but my objective is to lose 40 pounds. Here are a few weight-loss strategies I've been using.

Increasing water intake

The weight and other aspects of your health that you gain from drinking sodas are very different from those that you gain from drinking water. In addition to the fact that orange and grapefruit flavors of seltzer water taste good, I've been experimenting with them in order to increase my water intake. To make detox water, I also add frozen fruits. A squeeze of lemon in the water also works well.

I make an effort to consume three liters of water each day. More water consumption promotes weight loss, weight maintenance, and even prevents weight gain, according to research. Studies have actually found that consuming two glasses of water before each meal can boost weight loss efforts by about 44%.

Consume breakfast

Although I am aware that eating a muffin on the way to work is more convenient, I always make sure to have cereal and fresh fruit in my pantry. I go for breakfast options that are good for weight loss, like oatmeal, which has less than 100 calories per 1/2 cup serving, one egg plus two egg whites, or a half cup of beans.

I try to eat breakfast as soon as I wake up in the morning to help my metabolism start working.

Protein for shedding pounds

Consuming foods high in protein can assist you in gaining muscle mass, which is associated with weight management and weight loss. The daily recommended intake of protein is 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight, but if you are lifting weights, you might want to up that number.

White meat, like chicken or turkey, gives me more energy because it is high in protein. Since I don't like beef or pork, I can't use those as my protein sources. I typically eat protein and vegetables, and all of my meals are delicious and filling. I never get hungry.

Regular exercise

I spend 30 minutes at the gym three times a week. Even 30 minutes a day of exercise can boost weight loss efforts and give you more energy throughout the day.

At the gym, I typically engage in cardio for 30 minutes. I spend 30 minutes walking on the treadmill or running for 10 minutes, take a two-minute break, and then repeat this process three times.

I do weight training at the end of my workout to tone my body.

I work out with weights for an hour three times per week because it builds lean muscle, which burns more calories when at rest than fat tissue. Additionally, lifting weights can help to increase flexibility and strength, both of which are necessary for performing daily tasks like carrying groceries, taking out the trash, and climbing stairs.

I endeavor to consume more vegetables.

It can be very simple to overindulge on meat and carbohydrates when you're trying to lose weight. Because losing weight affects more than just your weight—it also affects your health, I try to avoid doing that. So occasionally I make sure to eat a lot of vegetables instead of potatoes or rice. Nowadays, I put vegetables on half of my plate, which helps me feel fuller for longer. I'm able to eat as much of the vegetables I want because they are low in calories. You won't gain weight if you eat vegetables.

I consume a lot of spinach, swiss chard, and kale. To my meals, I occasionally add broccoli and cauliflower.

Finally, you need to have a support system if you want to lose weight. I belong to several Facebook groups. I stay on track with my weight loss goals by conversing with other people who are also trying to shed some pounds.
