How to make more time for yourself

Time……

It is such a simple concept, yet it rules us if we allow it to. I hear many women I’ve talked to including myself say that making time for ourselves to reach our personal goals is hard and nearly impossible. Some people like me work long, long days (all day). Others work part of the day but then go home and work doesn’t end for them because they are mothers & fathers. They have kids, animals, or others to take care of. There are houses to clean and garages to clutter, bills to pay, and groceries to buy so when does it end. When can you possibly make time for yourself?

The only truth is that you can find time in your hectic schedule for yourself. According to research from Soundvision.com the following is what is currently happening and of course it may vary from person to person but even I am guilty of spending a lot of my time watching tv.

According to the A.C. Nielsen Co. the average American watches 3 hours and 46 minutes of TV each day (that's more than 52 days of nonstop TV-watching per year).

By the age of 65 the average American will have spent nearly nine years glued to the tube.

Parents spend 38.5 minutes per week in meaningful conversation with their children is 38.5.

So there you see it. Watching tv alone is a huge culprit of eating up the very valuable time that you can be using to reach your personal goals.

Guys & ladies, I’m here for you. All I’m doing is sharing the things that work for me and hopefully they work for you too. Here are some ways you can make time for yourself! Please like, and share and of course subscribe for future blogs!

Wake up 30 minutes earlier

It might not seem like a lot of extra time but 30 minutes goes along way. You can schedule in reading a book, having breakfast with your family, a simple workout or even just for the simple fact that you will be able to take your time while doing your morning rituals. The benefits are endless to waking up earlier and having more time for you.

Take your lunch break

A lot of us get an hour of lunch break and some of us get 30 minutes. Whatever the case is some of us don’t take our break and decide to keep working weather on the clock or not. The point is that this is a great time to take 5 to 10 minutes to yourself. It is valuable time for you where you can close your eyes and meditate or pray. The point is to get a little of time for you so you get to express gratitude for another day of life.

Turn off your tv

You probably don’t want to hear this one but this is probably the area of your life that needs to be a little more controlled. I have nothing against unwinding and watching your favorite TV show. I personally love watching The incredible Dr. Poll, the office, and occasionally a little of Hell’s kitchen with my husband but much more rewarding will be to cut down your tv time in half and get some activity going in your life. This is a great time to spend learning a new subject or just working on your self love.

Turn off Digital Devices!!

Here is another one that is going to hurt, but guys believe me that you will finally see the time you need in order to reach your goals. So easy we fall into the trap of getting lost for hours on Facebook, Instagram, and a bunch of other social media platforms. Does the information we seek online really improve our lifestyle? Most of the time it doesn’t. There is time for social media and there is time where you have to just turn off your devices in order to make time for yourself.

So there it is! 4 simple ways to make time for yourself and you probably already new that. Also don’t think that you will never be able to watch your favorite shows, or sleep in. This is all about perspective. What is more important to you? What will you gain from making the small sacrifices and most importantly what is the vision you want for yourself. If you are happy with your life great and if you want to accomplish more then here is the simplest solution for your time management.
