If you search online you will find that there are a number of home remedies that claim to give your immune system a boost. We cannot guarantee the efficacy of any of these home remedies, but we have some for you in this article that we believe have the best chance of working.

The reasons that we chose these specific home remedies include common sense, the strength of belief over the years that they work and knowledge of the main components of the remedy having the backing of science. It is up to you to decide whether you think that these home remedies will suit you of course.

Tea with Lemon Ginger

It is very easy and quick to create good tasting lemon ginger tea. It has a simple taste and can be very soothing to drink. A lot of people swear by the immune boosting power of lemon ginger tea.

One of the reasons that we particularly like the idea of lemon ginger tea is the ginger. For centuries it has been known that ginger has a number of healing properties. It contains both a high level of antimicrobial elements as well as antioxidants. There have been research studies that prove that ginger has excellent antimicrobial qualities.

Then there is lemon which you are probably aware has a high level of vitamin C. It is also claimed that lemons have very good antimicrobial and antibacterial properties as well. All of this is good news for your immune system.

To make a delicious cup of lemon ginger tea you will require two ounces of lemon juice (organic), grated fresh ginger (about an inch), four cups of water (preferably filtered) and an optional tablespoon of honey to add to the taste.

Chicken Soup and Bone Broth

I personally can vouch for this item, as I had my spleen removed in 1985 after surviving a head on collision. The months and years that followed had me suffering the cold and flu every season. It was hard for me to acquire the taste because during my recovery in the hospital from that accident, all I ate was jello and chicken noodle soup. But I discovered, that many years ago, people used to recommend chicken soup to treat all manner of ailments. If it is made properly with vegetables that are high in nutrients, the right herbs and spices and combined with a chicken bone broth then it could give your immune system a powerful boost. So I toughed it out and started drinking Homemade chicken broth a couple of times each week for lunch, the colds and in fsct the flue seemed to disappear and it felt as if I had a forcefield around me, keeping those 2 illnesses and others away.I recommend that you use a variety of vegetables to make your chicken soup. Carrots are good as are kale, celery and leeks. Add a touch of garlic as well. The reason that these vegetables are preferred is that they have good antioxidant and vitamin C levels. Both of these are essential for a healthy immune system.

Wild Mushrooms

Wild mushrooms are another food that people believe have a great deal of health benefits. Not only that but they are delicious to eat as well. We recommend that you find somewhere that sells wild mushrooms rather than trying to pick them yourself. You don’t want to choose a poisonous mushroom by mistake!

Cordyceps, reishi and shiitake are all forms of wild mushroom that taste great and are packed with nutrients. These nutrients can really be beneficial to your immune system and there is a good chance that they will boost it.

Herbal Infusions

A lot of people swear that drinking herbal infusions is a great way to recover fast from a cold or the flu. They also claim that herbal infusions can prevent you from getting sick as well. There are several different herbs available and we believe that these are the best for your immune system:

• Echinacea

• Elderberry

• Osha root

It is easy to create great tasting infusions from all of these herbs and you may boost your immune system by drinking them.
