Studies have shown that certain foods, herbs and supplements can actually prevent, reduce or reverse cancer as well.

The list of these healthy anticancer food are;

TUMERIC

Curcumin found in turmeric inhibits the spread of cancer (metastates) along with its anti-inflammatory and oxidative effects. Tumeric can be found at the market or online stores in root form. It can sed liberally to spice your food, great in salad or in salad dressing as well as in cooked dishes with no side effects.

CARROTS

Carrots are good for your vision, skin and as a natural detoxifier as well.

This vegetable is a wonderful source of beta-carotene, an antioxidant that aids in preventing cell damage and may slow the growth of cancer cells.

They contain falcarinol and falcarindiol-natural antioxidants in the vegetable that scientist believe are the reason for their cancer –fighting abilities.

DARK GREEN VEGETABLES

Dark green vegetables can help fight cancer. They contain Carotenoids . There are other antioxidants in these vegetables that can also help prevent cancer.

For instance, Spinach has lutein, this antioxidant is not only good for your eyes but may suppress cancer by removing free radicals from your body. Free radicals are responsible for causing diseases like cancer.

In one study of half a million people, results showed those who ate spinach on a regular basis had a lower chance of esophageal cancer.

BROCCOLI

Broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables can help you fight cancer. This is because broccoli has compound which helps in blocking substances that cause cancer. The compounds also help in the fight of tumors in your body.

Broccoli has a compound called Sulforaphane which is known to have anti-cancer properties.

Research shown eating cruciferous vegetables like broccoli will reduce the chances of colorectal and colon cancer.

In some test tube studies, it was found that Sulforaphane reduced breast cancers by 75%.

Similarly, in an animal study, mice treated with sulforaphane saw the number of cancer cells reduced by half. The compound also helps slow the growth of any tumors in your body.

Eating it just a couple of times a week will do the trick. The best way to eat this cruciferous veggie is raw, steamed or very lightly sautéed.

BERRIES

Berries are another great food that helps fight cancer. Scientists have revealed that it is rich in flaveonids. Cranberries in particular have anthocyanins and flavonols, which can increase the effectiveness of immune system to help fight harmful substances.

In one study, participants who are already suffering from colorectal cancer were given blueberry extract as part of 7-day treatment, the result showed that the cancer growth was brought down by 7%.

Studies have shown that berries are effective in reducing tumors. Strawberries, black berries, blueberries, and raspberries are good for salad or smoothies. Top your smoothie with roasted pecans almonds and walnuts for an extra dose of antioxidants.

WINTER SQUASH

Like acorn, butternut and pumpkin have fleshes that are usually colored. This is an indication that they are packed with beta-carotene and other carotenoids pigments.

Experts believe eating food rich in beta-carotene such as Winter Squash can reduce the chances of cancer. When population studies were conducted, it was seen that carotenoids resulted in lower risk of cancer.

The catechins found in green tea have made it a superstar in the cancer fighting food research. They are believed to be more powerful than Vitamin C in fighting free radical damage.

In multiple Lab Studies, this delicious beverage has been shown to shrink existing tumors and inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Many experts suggest green tea daily as a national cancer preventative.

GARLIC

Garlic contains powerful antioxidants like ‘Allicin,’ proven to remove free radicals from your body. It also boosts immunity, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and is a natural detoxifier.

According to the American Cancer Society, Cell culture Studies have shown that garlic can help cancer cells die off.

The National Cancer Institute also says that garlic can reduce the rate at which cancer cells proliferate thereby slowing the progression of cancer in the body.

In animal Studies, garlic has killed cancer cells in the lungs, breast, stomach, esophagus and colon.

Chop or crush garlic, then use it raw or in your favorite recipes.

TOMATOES

Tomatoes are rich in antioxidants. It contains Lycopene, an antioxidants that help fights free radicals that cause cancer.

They also have Vitamin C, an antioxidant which can prevent cellular damage that leads to cancer.

Studies have shown that lycopen can kill mouth cancer cells. An increased intake of lycopene has already been linked to a reduced risk of breast, prostrate, pancreas and colorectal cancer. Avoid canned tomatoes and use fresh tomatoes.
