Sea Moss Recipe

  • Rinse 1-2 oz of Irish Moss out of package. Give it a good rinse once or twice to get some of the salt and sand off.
  • Soak it in a large bowl filled with cool water. Rehydrate by Cover and leave overnight in the water.
  • Rinse again and dump the water after separating it from the salt and sand that may accumulated in the bottom of the bowl.
  • Blend. Put the moss into a blender with a bit of fresh water and blend. It takes a bit of time to break down and the amount of water used depends on how thick you want the end product. Add more water as needed to get to the desired consistency, keeping in mind that the gel will thicken up a bit as it sits. Store in the refrigerator. You can always add bladderwrack or elderberry to your sea moss to give it even more of a nutrient boost.

Sea Moss Safety Health Guidelines

Research is ongoing. One of the main potential downsides of sea moss is that not much research has been conducted on its benefits and nutritional makeup.

As with seaweed, the nutritional value of sea moss can vary greatly, making it difficult to know exactly what it contains and in what amounts. Much of the micronutrient and fatty acid contents of sea vegetables depend on the environment in which they grow.

While it’s a terrific source of iodine, there is a 23% iodine content of sea moss and other seaweeds. This may put consumers at risk of over intake of iodine. So consume in moderation so it's unproblematic .

Be sure not to take in too much iodine can lead to hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid. The thyroid is an important gland located in the lower front of your neck. It’s responsible for growth and metabolism.

The nutrients in sea moss can vary by the environment in which it was grown. It may contain high levels of iodine or heavy metals. However, current research has not found that sea moss contains toxic levels. Scientists need to do further research on this.

Rest assured that many generations of men drink Irish moss as a stamina booster and are healthy as ever! Many go on to live in the 100's without things like Cancer or diabetes. This is because they're immune system is stronger than most people who do not consume seaweeds and algae from mother natures supply of miraculous medicinal Superfoods!
