The tooth cavity is the most common issue in dental problems. Other than this, people spend lots of money on their bleeding gums treatment, tooth decay treatment, etc. After studying the work and interviews of top dentists in India, we have compiled a list of seven most common oral problems and how one can prevent the problem and save money. Here is the list:

Cavities and tooth decay

Cavities are the most common issue among the people who belong to the 20-64 age group. As per the research, 92% of adults get dental cavities in permanent teeth for at least once in their lifetime. Tooth decay can be defined as a situation in which plaque forms on teeth and produces acids. These acids directly attack the enamel. If this plaque is not removed timely, the person might end up damaging their teeth completely. The damage results in small holes in the teeth, and they are known as cavities.

The cavity is often because of not properly brushing the teeth or not brushing at all. One can easily prevent tooth cavity by brushing and flossing teeth regularly and adequately. During plaque, it is advisable to brush the teeth after 2 - 3 minutes after every meal. If brushing twice is not possible, then one must practice brush teeth at least once a day with the fluoride toothpaste. The person suffering from cavities shouldn't wait and get it filled. Otherwise, the situation may worsen. They might have to go with cosmetic dental surgery.

Gum Disease

When we talk about one of the most common dental issues, then how can't gum disease be on the list. Gums can easily get infected by plaque toxins too, which results in gum disease. It is also known as periodontal disease. They can be classified as periodontitis and gingivitis. Red, swollen, and painful gums are the main symptoms of gums disease. If the issue is not taken care of immediately, it might destroy the bones that support the teeth. Well, one can easily prevent gum disease by brushing twice and properly flossing teeth daily. People with diabetes are more likely to have gum disease, so they must consult the dentist regularly.

Yellow Teeth

The most hated dental issue is tooth discolouration of teeth yellowing. Tooth discoloration can be because of plaque, aging, smoking, or some specific foods. One can prevent tooth discoloration by staying away from foods with high tannins and certain acidic foods. Quitting smoking is also beneficial. Today, teeth whitening procedures are common, and dentists in India have even reported a definite rise and demand for this treatment.

Sensitivity

Sensitivity can be defined as a situation in which the dentin (layer of teeth nerves) is exposed and causes severe pain. Sweetness, heat, cold, or even cold air can cause pain. This sensitivity arises because of the full range of factors like too much brushing, age, gum disease, etc. One can reduce sensitivity by decreasing the intake of acidic and sugary foods. It is advised to floss more often during sensitivity. Apart from this, a fluoride rinse, plastic sealers, fillings, might help.

Toothaches

One of the most painful oral issues is toothaches. Many people experience such pains, which might be because of any of - damaged teeth, wisdom teeth eruption, or gum infections. Most toothaches are because pulpits usually result from decay. Swelling is an indicator that the disease is spreading. Avoiding cavities can keep the toothaches away.

Bad Breath

Many people struggle with bad breath. It happens because of a condition called halitosis – a condition in which a person's breath has a foul odor. The good part is that there are lots of things you can do. Causes of bad breath include mouth infections, poor mouth hygiene, dryness of mouth, excess food particles. It is advised to visit a dentist and discuss the course of treatment with them. Still, brushing adequately is a part of the remedy.
