I know it's a huge drag to be quarantined for so long but this is actually a really great opportunity for you to wow people when we eventually get out of it. You could learn languages, philosophy, history and the list goes on. Why waste your time playing games or watching movies when you can use your time wisely.

We all need a distraction during this depressing time in history. You don't have to be bored. There's a lot of people that are spending their time working out and eating better but maybe that's not for you. Not everyone has that type of motivation but it is something to get into with all the free time we have.

What interests you will give you the motivation to continue. If you try to learn something that you never wanted to learn in the first place your going to quit right away. There's no point in learning something you never wanted to learn because your brain won't want to continue.

One of the problems is trying to find what's interesting to you. This is probably the biggest challenge of learning something new. There are too many options out there in this day in age. The Internet is supposed to help us but sometimes it makes us fall into a rabbit hole of distractions.

Still we should use the Internet as a way of finding our interests as well as we can. Focus is really the thing. Wikipedia is probably some of the best way of wetting your appetite for new things. It gives you a great assortment of background into the things you want to learn.

YouTube can be a good source as well but it can also be a black hole of distractions. Practice great caution when searching for information on YouTube, a lot of the information isn't necessarily the most accurate.

If you have difficulty reading from the screen you may decide to buy an e-reader. The screen doesn't shine on your eyes like a regular screen. It almost feels like you're reading pages from a book it's really impressive. You can also stream or buy audiobooks. They'll read you the information while you're exercising or doing your day to day activities.

The problem is that it is difficult to have the focus on continued learning. You may feel bored of learning the subject after a while. A little trick is that you don't have to study for long periods at a time. You can just learn for half an hour a day. It's up to you because it's extracurricular. You're not at school so you can learn at your own pace. This is something you really have to remember because a lot of us are used to the regimen that we've learned from school.

Learning a little at a time is better time spent than none. There are a lot of people that aren't doing anything. You're just making yourself a little bit better everyday. You have nothing to prove anyone but yourself and trust me you'll be happy that you did it.

After a month or two you can wow your friends with your new knowledge. Most importantly you'll be impressed with yourself that you were able to do it. Don't worry we're all able to learn a little more. Our brains are more resilient than you think. You're not too old to learn anything.

Who knows this new skill of knowledge may provide you better conversations with a wider assortment of people. You may be able to fix things that you never thought you could before. Learning isn't about degrees and credits. Knowledge is knowledge. You're better off when you have more.
