The process of drying clothes is extremely important, and if you haven't given much importance to this aspect so far, you need to change your mind.

The way you choose to dry your clothes can cost you time and money or, on the contrary, you can save these very important resources.

Also, the method you use to dry your clothes matters if you want to keep your clothes spotless for as long as possible.

I'm sure you have clothes in your wardrobe that you would like to wear for years, but to do that, you need to learn as many tricks as possible about how to keep your clothes like us longer. One of these tricks is to choose the best method of drying them.

So how do we choose to dry our laundry: in the dryer or outside, in the fresh air?

Do not rush to answer this question. We will see below all the pros and cons for each method so that at the end of this article you can make the best decision for you and your clothes.

Drying clothes in the dryer

Benefits

The main reasons for choosing a tumble dryer are the time we save, but there may be other issues to consider. So here are the benefits of using a tumble dryer to dry:

1. Save time and effort. Tumble driers significantly reduce the time it takes for clothes to dry. All you have to do is put the clothes in the dryer and after a relatively short period, they are dry and ready to wear.

2. Space saved. To spread the laundry on a drying rack you need space, whether we are talking about the outside or the inside. In addition, it can be unsightly to spread your clothes on a drying rack, especially if you have guests.

3. Drying in the car can save you the hassle of ironing. The heat from the dryer removes wrinkles from the clothes, so when you take them out of the dryer, you may not have to iron them.

4. You are no longer conditioned by the weather outside. We know that on rainy or cold days, clothes are harder to dry. If you use the machine drying method, it will not matter if it is snowing, raining, or foggy outside, because you will have your clothes dry in two steps and three movements.

Disadvantages

Although the benefits of a tumble dryer are worth considering, there are some less positive aspects of this procedure, namely:

1. It costs you a lot to buy a tumble dryer. When you want to buy such a car, you will have to take a fairly substantial amount out of your pocket, because it is quite expensive.

2. High maintenance cost. If you thought that by buying a tumble dryer you got rid of other expenses, you should think about it. Such a car will also raise your maintenance cost, the electricity bill being perhaps the most affected.

3. Clothes can be damaged more quickly if you use the dryer. You have to be very careful when using the tumble dryer. Read the label of each item carefully to make sure it can be machine dried and choose the right setting to avoid unwanted accidents.

4. Negative impact on the environment. The carbon emissions of the tumble dryers and the plastic fibers released by the clothes can be extremely harmful to the environment. So, if you want to keep your planet clean and healthy, it's good to know that dryers are not at all environmentally friendly.

Outdoor drying

Benefits

1. Clothes do not deteriorate as quickly as in the dryer. A tumble dryer significantly reduces the life of clothes, unlike natural drying, in clean air. If you want to keep your clothes for as long as possible, it is clear what drying method you should use.

2. You save money. Drying your clothes in the air is a way to save money. It costs you nothing, while if you use a tumble dryer, you have to take into account its high cost, plus electricity consumption and maintenance costs.

3. Clothes are fresher and more disinfected. The fresh smell of air-dried clothes cannot be replaced by any laundry conditioner. If we also take into account the fact that UV rays naturally disinfect wet clothes, then there is no doubt about which method of drying clothes you should choose.

4. Do not contribute to the destruction of the environment. If you are a supporter of the health of the planet, then you should choose natural laundry drying.

Disadvantages

1. Time and space. These are some of the disadvantages of drying clothes in the open air, but if you have a little patience and find a good place on the balcony or in the garden so that you do not mind the clothes lying there, then use this method with confidence. You will be more than satisfied!

2. The weather outside. You have to consider the weather if you want to dry your clothes outside. When it is cold, the clothes will be harder to dry, so you have to arm yourself more patiently.

Please note that drying your clothes inside is not recommended, as this procedure could hurt your health.

The explanation lies in the fact that when you dry your clothes in poorly ventilated rooms, the humidity in the air increases, which favors the appearance of mold spores, triggering various respiratory problems.

Having learned both the advantages and disadvantages of each method of drying clothes, what conclusion can we draw?

Of course, it would be ideal to dry your clothes outdoors, because it is healthier, more economical and more nature-friendly. But if you want to save time, space and not depend on the weather, then the right choice is the tumble dryer. It depends on the needs and preferences of each person!
