Quarantine and self-isolation restrictions are gradually being eased. Many cities' residents are returning to normalcy. We can stroll again, go to our favourite sites, commute to work, and meet up with friends. But are we all prepared for this? How do you come out of quarantine with the least amount of damage to your health and psyche? We polled the experts.

Why will getting out of quarantine be difficult?

We have to acknowledge that two and a half months of isolation has drastically altered our habits and way of life. “Everyone was affected by quarantine and isolation. They disrupted the normal rhythm of life to varying degrees, according to Ksenia Messing, analytical psychologist and integral therapist... - This naturally impacted people's mental balance and psychological state: the general level of uneasiness and anxiousness increased, many people felt helpless, and many faced uncertainty about the future.Someone learnt to accept themselves as they are, and someone did not, therefore they preferred to avoid unpleasant feelings by overeating, drinking, "drunk" training, or watching TV shows.

However, for some, social isolation has triggered a deep archetypal tendency - the fear of loneliness. We are sociable, collective beings, no matter what anyone claims. Humans require human beings. Isolation underlined for many the absence of "their" people with whom they could discuss collected tension and thoughts and feelings.

On the one hand, we've all been waiting for the limitations to be lifted and the quarantine to be lifted. On the other side, there is still a substantial danger of getting COVID-19, which causes many people to be anxious.

Furthermore, during the quarantine, some of them substantially lost their sleep and wakefulness routines, and one of them managed to discontinue training. What are we going to do with all of this? Gradually return to normal life. Here are some pointers to get you started.

How to Leave Quarantine in Safety and Comfort

* Carry it out smoothly. “The essential guidelines for a healthy and smooth exit from self-isolation are to do it gradually and to take care of yourself,” Ksenia Messing explains.

* Keep an eye on yourself. Ksenia Messing adds, "Track your mood, anxiety and panic attacks, developing anxiety and concerns." - Ask yourself, "Where did this feeling come from?" What was the cause? How can I assist myself right now to make things simpler for myself? What can I do to help myself manage with this disease in the long run?

* Look for your own stress-relieving techniques. “Learn how to express your anger, rage, anxiety, and terror in a healthy and safe way. For some, doing something with your hands and calming down while working is creativity. Sports may be a way out for others. This is especially true when the weather permits outdoor training. “Physical activity has been scientifically shown to help with anxiety-depressive disorders and has a favourable influence on the overall condition,” says Ksenia Messing.

* Return to your normal communication mode with ease. “Regardless of how much you enjoy it, you should not jump into active social communication right soon. We now have "communication hunger," and we want to make up for the time spent in isolation as soon as possible. However, I propose gradually resuming to your normal activity and observing how your body and mind react. Many people observe that, on the contrary, they were able to breathe out and take a vacation from social life while in quarantine, and they do not want to return to the previous pattern.

* Make gradual changes to your everyday routine. If you changed from a "lark" to a "owl" during the quarantine and now need to return to work in the office, try to get back into your normal routine gradually. “Self-isolation has dramatically affected our routines, and remote work has become a serious test for self-discipline and daily routine,” recalls Vladislav Moshkin, bodybuilding and fitness instructor, active IFBB athlete, and participant in the Decathlon company's All do Sport project...- It's important to remember what it means to go to bed and wake up "on time." Sleeping well and getting up early help a lot. Hormones, in addition to willpower, play a role in the work. They enhance your mood in the morning and offer you energy for the rest of the day. Finally, dousing yourself with cold water will assist you in waking up and beginning a fresh day. Of course, this is a minor strain on the body, but the sensation of lightness and strength is guaranteed.

* Increase your physical exercise on a regular basis. You should not begin intensive training immediately after quarantine. “If you did not have enough physical activity during the quarantine, start with a basic morning workout, not to overstrain, but to restore muscular tone,” says Vladislav Moshkin. - You can practise without or with a minimal amount of specific equipment, such as rubber shock absorbers and small dumbbells. Such training will serve as an excellent preparation for the "big stage" in the gym.

Walking is also beneficial; 1.5-2 hours of moderately paced walking improves blood circulation, strengthens muscles, and gently loads the cardiovascular system. Allow your body to become accustomed to regular movement before gradually increasing the load.
