So, if you don't know how to clean leather sofas, read the instructions below and you will be able to keep yourself as the new most beloved piece of furniture in your home.

How to clean leather sofas: the basic steps for any problem

When you do not know how to clean leather sofas, in any case, do not turn your attention to any product. Keep in mind that some of them may contain various ingredients that may affect the surface of the hemp over time.

Steps for cleaning the leather sofa

Leather sofas should be cleaned every two months or at least once every 5–6 months, if you do not spend too much time in the house, follow the instructions:

1. Vacuum the leather sofa

Vacuum the entire surface of the sofa and insist on dusty areas. If you have one, we recommend attaching a thin-headed accessory to the vacuum hose. This will allow you to penetrate more easily into hard-to-reach areas.

2. Use a homemade solution

Mix water and white vinegar in equal amounts, then soak a soft cloth in the solution obtained and squeeze it well. Start wiping the leather sofa first from the back and then from the bottom. Wash the cloth in the solution of water and vinegar at a certain interval. Squeeze it well so as not to load the piece of water furniture.

You can also replace the vinegar with soap with moisturizing properties that do not dry out the material. Insist in places where you notice various stains of dirt, and at the end, be sure to remove any traces of soap from the surface of the material.

3. Dry the piece of leather furniture

If you are thinking of using a hairdryer to dry this piece of leather furniture, it is not a good idea at all. It can dehydrate the skin and eventually damage it. The best solution is to use a dry towel, preferably one made of a lint-free material.

4. Glosses the sofa (optional step)

If you do not know how to clean leather sofas when you want to give them a little shine, use this natural solution. Of course, you can also use commercial products, but you have to keep in mind that they have many chemicals in their composition.

To get the solution I mentioned above, mix white vinegar and flaxseed oil in equal amounts. Use a very soft cloth for this step and apply the solution on the leather sofa in circular and gentle movements.

After that, let it take effect overnight. The next day, wipe the sofa with a piece of cloth to remove excess oil so that it looks natural.

How to clean leather sofas in case of stains and stubborn marks

When you are unable to clean the leather sofa well, possibly if you notice mold on it, remove the traces with a solution of water and alcohol, both ingredients added in equal amounts.

Wondering how to clean leather sofas if they were drawn with a marker? Well, you can use an aerosol spray with confidence. Instead, if you notice traces of a pen on the couch, apply a little eucalyptus essential oil.

And for grease stains, you can always rely on baking soda. Apply a little on the affected area and let the powder take effect for a few hours, then remove it.

Other solutions you can use to successfully remove stubborn stains are acetone-free solvent, baby wipes, and even toothpaste, but not gel options.

However, test these products on a less visible surface beforehand. Also, keep in mind that wet wipes may leave some marks on the couch.

Now that you know how to clean leather sofas, it will be an easy task to keep them clean and shiny in the future. You will no longer need to invest in high-quality chemicals.
