A New Way to Live. . My Friend is in His 60's. All His Life, He Worked as a Professional Salesperson. . Lots of Meetings, Deadlines & Sales Goals that Had to be Met!

And the game was played with precision and determination each and every day. That was the norm for over 40 years. Just like many, he was regimented in his day. . his mornings started with a cold shower, a LONG LOOK in the mirrow and a PEP TALK to HIMSELF! He wrote down all of his planned achievements. There were at least 5 objectives that had to be met every day. . make 100 phone calls. . generate 20 new leads. . see 7 people. . take 1 client out to lunch & close 2 deals. And, of course, earn a certain amount of money. And at night, after accomplishing these goals, he would lay his head on his pillow, knowing that his day was a TOTAL SUCCESS! 40 years doing this. .

We are all taught steps to success by our loving parents from the time that we were able to make our own bed. Certain things needed to get crossed off our list each and every day. . even the weekends didn't allow any rest for the weary. . life never stopped. The small tasks that we learned to complete as children gave us the springboard to continue as adults. . stepping stones to conquer the day with flying colors.

And then, ALL OF A SUDDEN. . it was time to consider retirement. My friend did just that! At age 62, he quit his life's work. Immediately he signed up for his well-deserved social security monthly check. And, he scooted off to Costa Rica. Now keep in mind that he had been planning this for 5 years prior. He had all of his ducks in a row. . he had been to Costa Rica at least 10 times and knew where he was going to live. . he knew how much he was going to spend every month & he already had a base of good friends here!

And like many before him, after a year or so living here, not working, he became antsy. Now keep in mind that he did stay busy. He saw the entire country and solidified friendships all over San Jose! But that WORK ETHIC shined through and caused some guilt feelings. And now, he works online about 20 hours a week. So his deeply-defined habits instilled by his parents so long ago are being satisfied. . there's some additional cash coming in and he still has all the time in the world to enjoy one of the happiest countries on the planet.

Sounds like a pretty darn good outline to follow if you're considering a move to Costa Rica. We hope you can work it out and become one of our many new neighbors! You're going to love your new life!
