Spring is clearly on its way. Hopefully, it will bring an end to restrictions along with longer days and better weather.
Although Spring is traditionally the time for refreshing and updating homes, it is also the perfect excuse for businesses to clear away the cobwebs, open up for another day and think about air conditioning and ventilation – as it’s never been more important.
Beat the summer rush
Spring is when temperatures start to get pleasantly warm. Summer is the time when they can get unbearably hot. It’s, therefore, the time when many people suddenly realize that they could really do with a new AC unit. It’s also the time when old AC units tend to break down as they are overloaded.
This means that AC installers are typically at their absolute busiest during the summer months. They will generally be fitting in customers as, when and if they can rather than offering customers a choice of appointments at a mutually convenient time.
If you have a high-street shop for example, you’ll probably find most people will enter your store as an escape to the blaring heat outside, especially in summer. So if your store is still sweltering when they come inside, you might just lose yourself a potential customer!
Choose the best product for you
On a similar note, organizing your AC early gives you the best chance of finding and buying the best product for your needs, wants and budget. You’ll have time to do your own research. If you have any questions, you’ll be contacting staff at a relatively quiet period. This means that you’re more likely to get a quick answer.
You’re also more likely to be able to buy the product you want. AC manufacturers will have their new lines out but will not be dealing with the summer rush. Likewise, you still have time in hand to cope with any delivery issues.
If you control an office space, you’ll find that everyone has individual temperature requirements, some may feel cold, whilst others may feel warm, even when it’s not. Ensuring you have the correct type of air conditioning and ventilation system will allow you to create the perfect working temperature for everyone.
Have effective heating
Air conditioning is associated with cooling. In actual fact, however, it’s basically a form of climate control. This means it can be just as useful for heating. AC can therefore be a useful supplement to regular central heating. It can also be a reassuring plan B in case your central heating fails.
Deal with allergies
Spring flowers may look beautiful, for some people, however, they are a source of misery. Other warm-season allergies will be on the rise too. Even if you’re not an allergy-sufferer, you may have issues with poor air. This has a variety of reasons, common ones include pollen, dust and pollutants such as exhaust fumes.
There’s a limit to what you can do about these outdoors. You can, however, take steps to protect yourself from them indoors. Effective AC is usually key to making this happen.
Save money
Like every other industry, the AC sector is driven by supply and demand. This means that you can take it as read that AC units will go up in price as temperatures rise. Similarly, you can expect to have to pay more for an installation - if you can get one.
If you can’t get one, or if you have to wait, you either have to live with the heat or run fans. Technically, running a fan is more economical than running air conditioning. In the real world, however, a single fan is highly unlikely to be enough to cool even a small studio. As you add more fans, the costs go up, plus you are at increased risk of an electrical overload.
