Maruf Hossain is a Developmental Psychology Researcher, Entrepreneur, Author, Motivational Speaker, and Education Advocate. A native of Bangladesh, Maruf came to America living in New York City since 1997 at age 4. These things, he became over the past ten years through life experiences and opportunities. The real journey started in 2010 when he started college and joined student organizations in CUNY with his college and the broader university. Maruf graduated from the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) with his Associates in Liberal Arts. From there, he moved on to Hunter College and graduated with a Bachelors's in Psychology. Maruf Hossain graduated in May 2020 from PACE University with a Masters in Psychology. Maruf's concentration and focus is in the field of Developmental Psychology. He is blessed and grateful to have started his career in the summer of 2017 as a developmental psychology researcher.

As the developmental psychology research career started, his research opportunities have been mainly in Autism research. His other interests are children's mental health, depression in children and young adults, parenting styles, and the impact of a family lifestyle on children. He hopes to obtain his Ph.D. in a few years when it will be appropriate in his personal life to spend 4 - 6 years to earn his Ph.D. Maruf is pursuing any working opportunities to work in non-profits, social service companies, hospital psychology departments/children's psychology departments within NYC, or other forms of opportunities appropriate in the field. The possibilities are limitless. However, the one consistent thing is the forms of opportunities he receives serve in bettering children's lives and working with children.

The one thing to know about Maruf is, he is a career-focused individual that is open to working in any capacity that serves in bettering children's lives. With the specific topics mentioned above, they are the forms of research hopes to do as a researcher in the field. Developmental Psychology for him is his life, a lot like a drug. Besides his Developmental Psychology Research focus, Maruf is looking to become an entrepreneur with his interests in career development, education advocacy, educational development, and writing. In regards to the Journal Blogging platform that is being started on VOCAL, Maruf is using this as a personal journal and blogging platform. The various perspectives of life will come from his uniquely challenging experiences and perception of the world. Maruf is known to have a unique view of life and sees things differently from society's social norms. Therefore, he will use this life to speak on these topics. If there are specific topics aside from a general journal he writes, he will categorize it for those topics. Therefore, while his company blogs on career and education are prevalent on Medium, he may touch the bases of those topics on Vocal as well.
