Not all designs you use are selected by the clients but that doesn’t mean that the other designs were terrible. They just weren’t right for the client’s requirement and taste that’s all. Everyone sees things differently if one design doesn’t match the taste of one client it can be liked by other clients. As they say “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.

Besides, you can always use them to enhance your portfolio, improve on them, and put them up in designing competitions. Or put them on sell on sites that deal will design sells, this way not only will it fetch a good price but also promote your work at the same time.

III. Make online courses

You can also utilize your skills by teaching beginners by creating courses for them on sites like Udemy, Lynda, etc. Not only it will help youngers to learn something from you but also allow you to polish your basics and earn some in the process. Besides teaching is also a learning experience for you as well, you must be careful to get rid of bad habits and try to look at things from different perspectives to create good materials and courses. This experience will also help you in the long run and help you to understand the client’s needs and point of view as well.

IV. Participate in competitions

You can also earn and gain experience by participating in designing competitions organized by various websites. The prizes are quite handsome and looking up the other designs you can also and their concepts will help to broaden your horizon and allow you to think outside of the box.

V. Comic illustrations

Every kid or adult love to read comics. We have been reading comics since we were little. Well, you can also earn money through them as well. They are just a way of telling a story through illustrations and texts in an entertaining way. Besides it has already become a prominent job sector in different countries even movie and tv series are from them. Like The Flash, Green Arrow, Superman, Batman, etc. all originated from comics. And is also popular in other countries as well they just call it in different names. Like the Japanese creations are called “manga” and Koreans are called “manhwa”. There are quite a lot of famous ones as well like Naruto, One Piece, Death Note, Tower Of God, Solo Leveling, etc.

You can also use Patreon or other donation networks to earn money from the fans to continue your work.

Conclusion

Besides this, you can also earn money by promoting your work through blog posting social media, and many more. But at the end of the day, it’s up to you what you want to do and what you love. Designing is a platform where you have to work creatively while keeping in mind the client’s concept and point of view. So it’s best to do things in the way you love so that you can enjoy them while doing it.
