The 3 Keys to Launching an Online Business

Hint: get out of your own way

The self-help business industry is booming, and it's only expected to grow in time.

If you are anyone with a passion to heal and help others, you know that it's no easy feat to go from passion to profit.

When you decide to take the leap and become an entrepreneur, you are taking a huge risk.

The decision is overwhelming and scary for a lot of us.

You literally become your own brand.

Oftentimes we get imposter syndrome or don't feel expert enough to sell our knowledge.

As a holistic entrepreneur, I felt ashamed to ask for money for my coaching services.

Over 10 years ago, I launched my own intuitive self-help coaching business as a psychic medium and meditation teacher.

It was an unusual business to be in, and I wasn't exactly posted up on the corner doing $5 palm readings.

I felt a calling inside of me that I had something similar —call it a gift or a strong sense of guessing, but I relied on my intuition heavily to navigate life.

After enrolling in tons of workshops, and completing certification courses in meditation, intuition, mediumship, hypnotherapy and past life regression, I felt expert enough to start my own business.

I went from having an office in New York City where I led workshops and coached clients to building an online school, writing books, and selling courses on meditation, intuition, entrepreneurship, writing, and spirituality.

Creating a business in the self-help industry taught me some essential keys to building your own thriving brand.

Know your audience.

Students often ask me, "How can I attract my ideal client?".

To attract your ideal client is to know your ideal client.

Think of times when people have asked for your knowledge or advice.

When did you feel fulfilled in sharing it? Who was it with?

What does this person like to do? What do they read? What kind of places might you find them at?

For example, my audience is usually women from 40s-late 70s who live in smaller cities, who are mothers, and are passionate about healing, meditation, and self-help. They may go to yoga studios, reiki healing centers, health food stores.

In order for you to find your clients you need to imagine who they are and what they like.

Get to know them by sharing your knowledge and asking them questions. What do they want to learn? What are they struggling with? How can you help?

Knowing our audience is truly key to thriving in any business.

Get clear on your service

Make a bullet-point list of everything you have ever completed in your life from a workshop, school degree, certification course.

What did you learn? What jobs did you have? What books do you read often?

What online courses have you taken?

This is your life resume of everything you know and possibly can offer.

Now funnel down to what you would like to offer and sell.

Is it a product such as an eBook?

Or a course?

Or do you want to offer coaching services?

Make a list of what you'd like to offer and on what.

This technique can relieve you of confusion and bring clarity to what you will offer.

Keep it simple and don't overthink it.

Use your intuition

Look, there are tons of entrepreneurs and marketing gurus out there who will give you a step-by-step formula to build six figures online.

Anyone can do that.

However no one can use your intuition but you.

Our intuition is our inner voice.

It is an internal navigation system that can help us make wise choices.

Let it guide you in making wise choices around what you offer. Let it guide you to new ideas and opportunities.

Make a daily habit out of pausing and listening to your body and intuition when you make choices around your business ideas to everyday mundane life choices.

Put yourself out there one step at a time

Pick a platform to share your message, offerings, and services.

And just get out of your head, and out of your own way.

The world needs your gifts and your message.

No one will share it like you, and that honestly is why I am still an entrepreneur.

Over time the rewards will be in the impact you make and the lives you change.
