    Why I write on Vocal

    Why I write on Vocal

I will be honest and say that when I first came across Vocal, I had hopes of fat paychecks and visions of quitting the day job. It hasn’t worked out like that. Not even close. In reality, I have now earned almost enough for a couple of bags of crisps and a can of coke. But I have not given up writing on Vocal, even if I’m yet to earn enough to buy myself a pint.

Becoming a Makeup Artist, Creative Inspiration, and A Look Inside My Apartment

Becoming a Makeup Artist, Creative Inspiration, and A Look Inside My Apartment

I recently did a fun behind-the-scenes video about my life. I've been collecting small paintings, prints, and one very special trophy. Join me in my cozy space, meet my chihuahuas, and check out the art and objects that inspire me. My apartment was chosen specifically because I wanted a smaller apartment than my last one so I could go to work, come home to a neat organized space, and basically just get ready for the next phase of my life. I would love to get back to gardening, hobbies, and cooking more, but in the meantime, I’m in full work mode!

I finally reached my Vocal Media payout!

I finally reached my Vocal Media payout!

I don't consider myself a great writer but I am a patient person. Over the last two years I have tried to be as consistent as I could. I've experienced some difficulties but pushed through and it was all worth it. The money isn't a huge deal but it is nice to have a small reward for my efforts. I don't think Vocal Media is for everyone but I really appreciate the great staff that they have and how they've encouraged me to continue to write.

    Time For Some ‘Creative Destruction’

    Time For Some ‘Creative Destruction’

The very nature of the global economic structures we have taken for granted over the last decade are in jeopardy, from the integrity of the European Union to the future of supply lines from China, a country that stands accused of lying to the world about the extent of the virus. Coronavirus has obliterated over 22 million jobs, which amounts to nearly all the jobs that were created since the end of the financial crisis 10 years ago. This economic crisis will have a domino effect and continue to impact one facet of society after another. Ultimately it will create a wall of worry for financial markets to climb. As time passes and we begin to understand the scope of this crisis, facts will eventually force action. There are plenty of opinions about the whos, whys, whens, and hows, but we all know one thing for certain: it will take a long time for the effects of a global economic shutdown to settle enough to create some semblance of a "new normal."

    COVID-19: The Unsung Heroes

    COVID-19: The Unsung Heroes

What does essential mean to you? ‘Essential’ is subjective at the best of times. It’s helps define human rights. It helps raise the bar on benefits for those who need them. Right now, it defines who has to venture out of isolation every day and risk their lives to keep the world turning.

    Unforgotten Heroes

    Unforgotten Heroes

Have you ever heard the saying, "you don't miss a good thing till it's gone?" or the phrase your parents would say to you as a kid; "don't take the little things in life for granted." Well lately, those phrases have hit home for all of America and other countries. Recently, we all have been hit with a scary pandemic; Covid-19. All so sudden, the world had to learn how to adjust to new ways of living, while also being very cautious about sanitation and the proper ways to keep yourself and others safe.
