Owning a business in West Palm Beach can be competitive. With an abundance of choices, a plethora of brands, and a million and one ways to get things done, how can your business be noticed by customers online through SEO?

First of all, what is Search Engine Optimization or SEO?

Search Engine Optimization or SEO consists of multiple strategies, actions, and best practices, all of which have the end goal of improving your website’s search engine rankings on Google, Yahoo or Bing, leading to higher volume of website visitors and clicks.

There are two approaches to SEO: on-page and off-page SEO.

On-Page SEO refers to site speed, meta descriptions and tags, URL, regularly updated content or any material on your own website that could improve your Google search engine rankings.

Off-Page SEO, on the other hand, deals with high-quality backlinks (ex: social media activity, influencer marketing, Guest posting / blogging) to raise your rankings.

Both Off-page SEO and On-Page SEO strategies are important to optimize your site for higher rankings in search engines.

Why is SEO important for my business?

It is a fact that many business fail on the first year while the rest are struggling to make it past the five-year mark, more so if they cannot adapt to changing times.

Search Engine Optimization plays an important role in the future of your business through digital marketing since consumers use the internet to find your brand.

Research shows that customers, are turning to mobile and are actively searching for information across categories, even for the small stuff. They search for opinions of others to help them make decisions. Now more than ever, they listen to the expertise of others by searching online for product reviews and ratings, photos, and blogs.

These information, may it be good or bad reviews about your business, greatly impact their purchase behaviour and they would want to hear what others think and see their experiences.

Isn’t having a working website enough to be searched on Google?

When people use the internet to search for information, roughly 47% of clicks go to the top three positions of Google search results. With that said, as a company or business owner, you would want your business in that position or at least on the first page of the search results. No one would ever notice your business if your website was placed as number 12 on page 7 on the search engine rankings

Is SEO Important for every type of business?

SEO is important as long as you have a website for your West Palm Beach business. Your brand may belong in an industry where there’s little to no competition so you may already be ranking #1 but this may be just for a particular search result. In another situation, perhaps your business might be struggling to rank at all.

Investing in your website’s search engine ranking means that you are investing in its visibility and profitability. Through SEO, grow your online presence which then helps new customers find you when searching. More website traffic, more followers, and more leads will ultimately translate to increased profits.

My business currently utilizes Social Media Marketing, do I still need SEO?

Users trust search engines, and achieving a top spot in search engine rankings signals to searchers that your site is a credible source.

Search Engine Optimization can surely make or break a business online. Without SEO, customers will find it hard to find your website, business or information they need. Through search engine optimization, it makes your business easily discoverable by bringing traffic to your website.
