Probably, many have come across such employees who show too much initiative, and in the end, it becomes annoying.

Sometimes it happens that an employee moves from a successful company to another that has not yet been able to achieve such a result. Managers become interested in how everything works in a competitor. A person is offered to conduct a comparative analysis of not just a corporate culture, but also the internal life of two enterprises. Perhaps even make some useful and effective proposals that will benefit the company. Quite often, a person begins to think of himself as a very important employee, so he constantly suggests some kind of improvement. At the same time, managers should be glad that such a person paid attention and offers his assistance in development. Often he says that everything is arranged incorrectly, but he knows perfectly well what needs to be done in a given situation.

Super-initiative people constantly criticize everything and offer numerous solutions to problems. They come up with new ideas all the time, which can often do more harm than good. For example, enterprising people regularly distract management, and also set colleagues against themselves, which negatively affects productivity, as well as the profit of the enterprise.

Reasons for over-initiative.

There are several reasons why a person behaves this way:

  • The initiative is used as a substitute for their main responsibilities. Quite often, employees have so carried away with developing projects for the company that they forget that, for example, they must make several dozen calls during the working day.
  • Functional underload. For example, a person just got a job, but they did not immediately take on all the responsibilities. Due to too much free time, the employee begins to invent different ideas.
  • Another common reason is that they are trying to make life easier for the people around them. When you need to sell products, then there are two options. Constantly develop your skills and look for customers or ask managers for promotions or discounts for buyers.
  • They’re trying to get the job done right. They are not experts in this or that area, but at the same time, they try to put “their two cents” into any process and believe that without them the work will not progress as it should.
  • Some employees believe that if they regularly offer new ideas, then in this way the management will notice and appreciate them. Sometimes personal ambitions play a more important role than the desire to be useful to the company.
  • Too much energy. Some people can do their job well, but in their free time, they offer some ideas because they are bored.
  • The last reason partially combines everything that was said above — it is an imitation of violent activity or the IBD syndrome.

Imitation of super activity.

It means that a person is engaged in useless activities that are not aimed at coping with the tasks set. Thus, a person tries to justify the fact that he does nothing. Why, then, imitate the workflow instead of doing the assigned work? There are many reasons for this too:

It helps to create the illusion that the fate of the company is important to the employee, and he himself works tirelessly.

Allows you to demonstrate the illusory importance of a particular area of ​​work that cannot be ignored.

They believe that the authorities will notice the “effort” and give out a bonus or praise in front of other colleagues.

But most often the cause of it is that employees unwittingly find themselves in similar conditions set by management. He issues a fixed salary, which the employee cannot change in any way. In addition, you can not take a well-deserved vacation, and the management itself is doing everything possible to squeeze out as much as possible from each employee. Sometimes the staff is too big and there is not enough work. In such a case, imitation is the only option.
