Getting ready for a job interview

A small guide

Maybe it's your first time, or you haven't done it for a while.

Is it your dream job, or is it all about money?

It doesn't really matter!

Every interviewee feels a little worried before the interview. We all remember the feeling we had, before entering the examination room, it's the same here.

It's all about representing yourself, you can be qualified and skilled enough for the job, you can be the ideal candidate for the position, but the thing is, how to show the interviewer that you are THE ONE? How to make them see your potential?

As maybe you've already read in many articles the first thing to do is believing in yourself. Be confident and be honest with yourself. Are you the one? What if you are not that skilled, but you are a fast learner?

Of course, you need to do some research about the company you're applying to, you need to read the requirements, try to imagine the questions they are going to ask you there.

Here are some examples of the most common questions asked by the interviewers:

What was the last book you've read?

Why should we hire you?

Why have you chosen our company?

Where do you imagine yourself in 2 years?

What do you expect from the job?

Why do you want this job?

What is your greatest strength?

Tell me about yourself...

Get ready for all those questions, be prepared.

They may also ask some professional questions, get ready for those too. If it's been a while after graduation and you've forgotten some details, just try to reread some of your old books or articles you used to read while studying.

And after you've done all these you need to put yourself in their place, would you employ yourself for that position? why would you do that?

Remember, the thing that every requiter is searching for is an ideal team member, someone who is willing to learn and who is not afraid of difficulties. Someone who will make their company prosper. And remember it's not just you who needs the job, they also need you, they need a good professional, a team member.

So tell them why is it you the ideal candidate for that job. Tell them how motivated you are.

BE HONEST! Never lie to the interviewers, believe me, I've been interviewing people for a few years now, and I've always felt the lie.

This is why you should never try to seem more qualified than you are, sooner or later they'll find out the lie. When an interviewer asks you a question you are unable to answer, tell them the hard truth, the I DON'T KNOW, never try to guess or make out the answer, you can look ridiculous.

And the most common question is- What should I wear??

Well, you need to make an impression right? So your outfit must represent the impression you want to make. If you're applying for a designer position, you need to wear something stylish, if it's a job that requires creativity, why not, be creative, but never cross the line. The outfit has to be a business or business casual. After all, you need to make an impression of a serious and mature person.

It's not easy to step into that room confidently, I know, the secret of confidence is all about considering it "not a big deal". I know that it can be a big deal, it can be your dream job or just a job you desperately need but don't overthink on that, just go on and do it. And don't forget about the research you need to do before entering that room, know your "enemy".

Go in and win the fight!

Good luck!
