In this bustling and hectic contemporary business world where we are obliged to work eight hours per day five days per week, it is hard to stay focused and productive. Recent studies have shown that by implementing a few tranquil and riveting elements in the workplace, the productivity and atmosphere of all the employees will skyrocket. A quality office design leads to a less stressful and more lucrative atmosphere. Not only that, but when an office is a place of zen, it will bring peace and serenity to the employees and help balance the constant demands that grow on business individuals and teams. Creating a zen office doesn't take much effort, only goodwill, patience, and creativity.

Put up some motivational prints

Believe it or not, since words tend to fade away, some things are valued and appreciated more if they are written rather than said. Therefore, let the employees recognize the power of words, let them learn how a repeated and constantly read word or phrase can bring out the best version of themselves. Personalized motivational prints and murals will totally revive the office and many of the employees will soon discover how some simple words can promote calmness, fun, and quirkiness. Encourage the employees to read the motivational prints out loud as they pass by them, or suggest they should bring some written phrases as well.

Refurbish the office ambiance

Sometimes some simple paintwork or furniture replacement can really make a mindful change within employees. Since many of them are considering the office as their second home, it is no wonder that with time, the plain and tedious surrounding can get them down and agitated. In order to raise their attention span, creative thinking, and satisfaction, search for some renowned companies that can create a modern office fit and let them help you upgrade your office into an exciting and innovative place. By bringing in a totally new design, expect a productivity boost and a more uplifting and fanciful atmosphere.

Provide meditation space

Achieving personal and professional goals is hard. When there are a lot of things that can impede your work performance, and because added stress decreases your attention span, then going away from it all might sound like a perfect solution. Create a space specifically meant for meditation. A designated area that will help the employees recharge, unwind and reconnect with their inner zen will help them get back on their track and rejuvenate. A meditation room will help the employees decompress from the workload and serve as a room where they can enjoy silence and even brainstorm with no distractions for complete focus. All you need to do is put down some floor cushions, light a few scented candles and play soothing music.

Sip warm, calming tea throughout the day

Even though coffee is known for having a strong and effective influence on employees by keeping them up and running when their attention spans start plummeting, tea, on the other hand, will make everyone feel comfortable and tranquil. Drinking tea is proven to be an activity that helps people cope with stress and anxiety. A green tea and jasmine blend is a great way to commence your working day, since it will ease up your muscles and help keep your mind sharp. Organic teas can increase productivity and sense of wellbeing. If your employees sip warm, calming tea throughout the day, they will surely awaken all their senses and get a mesmerizing energy boost.

Get rid of clutter

Very often, the pile of papers and the abundance of stationary lying all over the desk can make the already hectic atmosphere worse. Make sure that you have plenty of storage for files, products, and hardware. Basically, anything that doesn't have to be out on the desk should be put away. Get organized and only keep what is absolutely necessary on your desk. Clutter has a really negative effect on employees, and it has a direct effect on mood and stress levels, both in the personal and professional life. Do your best to keep things simple and only keep the stuff that can boost efficiency and happiness.

Enliven your senses

Our senses are a majestic tool that can attract positive energy and fight off negative feelings. When you are surrounded by a constant commotion in your office space, having something that can totally ease you up will undoubtedly boost your mood. Since the sense of smell is one of our strongest senses with the ability to evoke powerful memories and emotions, you should place some seasonal flowers that will evoke those feelings. Scented candles and room diffusers placed in office will help employees and visitors associate your workplace with pleasant and serene smells. Lavender scents are perfect for calming the spirit, and citrus flavours are good for boosting energy. Furthermore, try to counteract disagreeable smells, and ask your fellow colleagues eating a can of tuna to go to another room.

Bring the outdoors in

To evoke a serene office zen, you may want to invite the outdoors feel inside. Nothing exudes zen like plants and greenery. Create an instant zen office by placing houseplants around the office. Aloe vera, bamboo plants, succulents, and peace lilies have wonderful air-purifying properties and are proven to increase morale, productivity, and good mood. Place the plants next to windows, let them embrace the natural light and even encourage all your employees to be around natural light as much as possible.

A zen office is meant to provide an escape from a demanding workload, to provide a chance to gain some clarity on their work, and simply to unwind. By transforming the office into serene space, you will certainly achieve that.
