Best Fictional Office Spaces You Wish You Could Work At

We've all seen them on TV and film, and we've all, at one point or another, wished we could work at some of the best fictional office spaces to never exist.

Office Space may have been one of the most famous workplace movies of all time, but it's far from the only one. Work-related movies, shows, and books have existed for aeons — and most of the office spaces that are described just seem so surreal that they actually make the workplace seem fun.

Whether we want to admit it or not, working at some of the companies we've seen on TV shows and other media looks pretty cool, particularly if they're among the best fictional office spaces ever created. Wouldn't you want to find your career in one of these awesome fictional companies?

Perhaps one of the best fictional office spaces for geeks (that still somehow functions as a business) would be Reynholm Industries — more specifically, the IT crowd office department in the basement. This workspace has everything a true office geek would need, especially when it comes to geeky kitsch and hilarious coworkers.

For someone who'd want to check out Harry Potter kitsch, anime-related goodies, and also be able to kick it with people who you'd legitimately want as friends outside of work, Reynholm Industries is a perfect place for your career.

The Enterprise from 'Star Trek'

Another super-geeky place that definitely ranks highly among the best fictional office spaces to never exist is Star Trek's Enterprise. This live-work environment literally goes into the deepest corners of space, has cool aliens as your roommates and coworkers, and also has the added perk of being filled with amazingly talented people.

It's futuristic, action-packed, and somehow, we can't imagine anything on Star Trek not being cool. If Star Trek were real, it'd be the career of a lifetime.

Handwritten Greeting Cards from 'Her'

For those of us who work best in aesthetically pleasing environments, the office of Handwritten Greeting Cards from Her would have to be one of the best fictional office spaces ever created. Look at its interior! It's pink! It's airy! It looks like an artist's nook...and is somehow clean!

Yeah, we can get behind that.

Not to be confused with ISIS, the terrorist group, Archer's ISIS is a super-secret spy organization filled with wacky characters, incredibly attractive people, tasteful retro clothing and furnishings, and of course, insanity involving cocaine pudding.

The fictional ISIS is one of the best fictional office spaces ever, if you're looking for a massive paycheck, occasional suicide missions, and of course, random rampant sex with coworkers.

Archer is also known for having plenty of drinks in every episode, so it's safe to say it's an alcoholic-friendly workplace. If you're into chaos and insane missions, you've probably wished you could work for Mallory Archer at least once in your life.

Men in Black from 'Men in Black'

The official-unofficial government agency in charge of dealing with alien affairs might be one of the best fictional office spaces ever imagined. Why? Because it looks awesome, has a multitude of different amenities, and also has alien worms who sip cappuccinos in the break room.

Job-wise, there will always be something incredibly awesome about top-secret work — especially if it has to do with aliens. Kay and Jay of Men in Black may have been the luckiest guys to never exist, if only because their jobs were so darn cool.

Working for Planet Express has just about all the drama and insanity that you'd expect, considering that it's a logistics company specializing in interplanetary deliveries. That's part of the reason why it'd be one of the best office spaces to experience.

I mean, really, who wouldn't want to have Professor Farnsworth as a boss — or Fry as a co-worker? It's one of the most awesome workplaces ever imagined, for the insane camaraderie and diverse backgrounds alone.

Stark Industries from 'Iron Man'

Though Stark Industries' inner workings have never really been fully featurd in a comic or movie, we all know that working for Tony Stark would be amazing. It's part of why Iron Man's box office invincibility is as well-known as it is.

In fact, it's fairly safe to say that Iron Man himself runs one of the best fictional office spaces ever, because he's practically the comic version of Elon Musk.

Perks would include a beautiful office space, being able to check out the latest super-science projects that will eventually fight crime, and of course, being able to ogle the sexy CEO. Tony Stark also seems like the kind of guy to offer pension and job stability — just saying.

Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce from 'Mad Men'

Say what you will about the rampant misogyny in Mad Men, but their office is slick as hell. Style-wise, it's one of the best fictional office spaces ever made. It's retro. It's stylish. It looks way better than most of the other office spaces on this list.

Though working there wouldn't be too much fun as a woman, the fact remains that it's glamorous and high-profile enough to make most of us overlook the insane drama that would arise.

The Daily Planet from 'Superman'

If you're not up for "way over your head" super-science or insane hijinks, then you might want to work in Superman's universe at The Daily Planet. The newspaper's known for having a tough, demanding manager who often tends to be a bit rough with photographers.

So, basically, it's like every newspaper ever. But, still, you'd be working with Clark Kent (aka Superman) and enjoying all the hustle and bustle of the big city. What's not to love about that?

Gameavision from 'Code Monkeys'

Gameavision isn't one of the best fictional office spaces in terms of decor, or management. Honestly, even some of the coworkers wouldn't be that much fun to deal with. However, the insane amount of pot the employees smoke, coupled with occasional introductions to big names like Michael Jackson, definitely make up for it.

Yes, your CEO would be an unhinged individual who kills his ex wives and shoots money to try to get insurance deals, but let's just be real honest, here. You'd love the chaos, and you'd love the stories you could tell from work.

Venture Industries from 'The Venture Bros'

The Venture Bros may be a cynical, twisted take on a lot of retro adventurers, but it's a darn good show. Working with Rusty Venture, Brock Sampson, and the boys may not always be easy or safe, but we'd be lying if we said that there wouldn't be plenty of reasons to stick around.

The entire office culture is one that involves crazy retro super-science gizmos, involves hanging out with badass fighters, and also seems to be pointedly retro in a cool way. Office gossip would be pretty juicy, and if we're honest, just being around those badasses would make it worth it.

Just, you know, don't let Action Johnny near any pills.
