Lately, we are hearing more and more about Metaverse, Web 3.0, and Crypto. Why? Because their size has started to increase and most likely they will be more and more present in everyday life. More and more famous contributors to the way they have changed the world are massively involved in the development of this new world.

You’ve probably heard of Facebook rebranding before. The new name will be “Meta” and of course, it is inspired by “The Metaverse”. The change seems to be fundamental, not like when Google renamed itself Alphabet and continued to do the same.

The rebranding decision is a revolutionary one. So far, Facebook has managed to gather over 3 billion people on its platform, which is impressive. What is the heading for now? Probably the goal of “Meta” is for most people to spend time here.

“I skate where the puck will be, not where it was” — Wayne Gretzky.

Web 3.0

In the last 20–30 years, our technological transition has been an impressive and rapid one, from the basic web pages of the ’90s (Web 1.0) to online applications with a lot of interaction and user participation (Web 2.0). The impact was major for business, of course. It’s all about money. The new technology has facilitated a whole range of businesses, including social networking and e-commerce.

What’s the next step? Web 3.0. This is the latest generation of applications, now decentralized and powered by blockchain. Centralizing data and power on the Internet has been a concern lately. Web 3.0 comes with a solution to these problems and seems to provide confidence, confidence, and transparency in the internet. It remains to be seen how this new generation will influence the online environment and especially business.

We hear more and more about the attributes of Web 3.0 and that we are regaining control. But what does that mean?

The following are essential things for Web 3.0

  • decentralization
  • the value belongs to those who create
  • community governance

So what are the technological products that embody these principles?

  • digital assets
  • decentralized finance
  • blockchains
  • DAO (decentralized autonomous organization)

These technologies are the ‘actors’ in Web 3.0.

Who works for him?

The most interesting projects and companies are:

  • META ETF companies (Top Ten META Holdings: Nvidia, Microsoft, Roblox, META (FB), Unity, Autodesk, Amazon, SEA, Tencent HLDGS, Taiwan Semiconductor MFG) — META ETF allocations may change at any time, in conclusion, do your research.
  • Bitcoin
  • Ethereum
  • Altcoins (do your research and choose the best projects)
  • OpenSea (NFT Marketplace)
  • Coinbase
  • Binance

With Web 2.0, if you are told that a product or service is free, the truth is that the payment is YOURS. With Web 3.0 we want something completely different.

Let’s talk a little bit about Metaverse.

What is this Metaverse?

The metaverse is considered the “new frontier of the Internet.” Specifically, the maneuvers create a new world, a virtual one, in which users live interactive experiences in a certain place, without being present there. I mean Online. We can summarize Metaverse in a virtual universe. Some also call it the fictional universe or augmented reality.

Quality content about Metaverse was provided live on Facebook in a discussion between Matthew Ball and Mark Zuckerberg.

Matt believes that the metaverse is an ecosystem that:

  • it will be persistent
  • will be synchronized live
  • It will be unlimited for users while giving each user a unique feeling
  • it will be a fully functional economy
  • it will be an experience that covers both the digital and the physical world
  • will provide unprecedented interoperability of data, digital assets, and content
  • It will be populated with content and experiences created and operated by an incredibly wide range of collaborators

How can speculators try to take advantage of these potential opportunities?

I can consider investing in companies like Facebook aka Meta and Roblox. ROBLOX is a digital sandbox for children/adults with layered savings. Over 50% of children in the United States play Roblox every week. Another interesting company is Unity Software. Unity provides tools to help make games easier and better. Over 50% of all mobile / PC / console games are made with Unity Software. Unity will be the tool that creators use in Metaverse. There are also cryptocurrencies from Metaverse such as AXS, MANA, ENJ, SAND, etc. NFTs will probably play a role as well.

Everything goes digital. Your friends, your job, your identity. Bored Waters (NFT) is the new Rolex.

Soon, a company will probably create some smart glasses that will stay on the eyes all day long. That’s when the Metaverse begins. Because at that moment, virtual life will become more important than reality. It’s not something that happens overnight. It is a gradual change that has been going on for 20 years.

Should we worry about or enjoy this evolution and these new steps? It depends on how we look at things. At the end of the day, this is another way to aggregate individual profiles so that companies can sell things to targeted users.

CONCLUSION

There are more and more concerns about monetizing people’s attention. This is a direct result of Web 2.0 monetization methods. But what if instead of centralized databases, we have people taking control of their data and developing new ways to approach monetization and ownership?
