In this article, I will tell you some things you should always have in mind when talking to your boss. You need to be very careful when talking with your superiors, even though your relationship with him them may be good.

He was like you at the beginning:

Although he now has a leading position, he had to start from some point. In his early career, your boss was a regular employee who has hardly made a journey to the position he occupies today. Managers are not born, they reach the end of a paved road with much chance and effort. He may not admit it, but he most likely works in this time under the direction of a boss just as he is today with you.

The boss needs you more than you need him:

While your bosses give the image of the company and you only appear as a number in the statistics, so it's easy to think insignificant, things are a little different. Without subordinates, his post would disappear and he cannot do what you do anymore.

This is the reason why your boss tried to persuade you how precious your job is and how hard it's going to be to find something similar in another company if you tell him that you want to leave. But he will never tell you how hard it would be for him to replace you because the recruiting and training processes are difficult. As long as you do your job reasonably, the boss will not want to get rid of you. Use this to your advantage.

The boss cannot be your friend:

Despite your relationship with your boss, he cannot be your friend, even if he wanted to. The other work colleagues will see that you are friends and your boss cannot save you when things get a bad turn, even though he may want to. And when he pretends to be your friend, be careful - he just does it to exploit you beyond the limits of collegiality. If it is to choose between his or her good, be sure he will see his interest.

Even the boss can be wrong:

With all his big experience, he can also make mistakes, as we all do. Though he would do his best not to recognize his mistakes before you, the boss hurls her as often as anyone. The more he gets on the hierarchical scale, the more his decisions involve a higher risk, but he will work to do his best and make good decisions. Behind the air of infallibility that emanates in your presence, there is someone as vulnerable and imperfect as you.

You will always be guilty:

The boss will always be the first one to get the laurels if things go well and the employees will always be the guilty ones if things fail. This happens because we all tend to assume successes and throw failures into others. And he can do this to you.

You should not complain about your salary:

It's not a good idea to complain about the salary to the person that it's paying the checks for the entire company.

This is because managers will not appreciate your honesty, they will try to talk you out of your request and tell you how difficult it is to run a company.

Your job is boring:

Never ever tell your boss that the work you have to do is boring. He will feel the need to ask you to do more work or will consider that you are not bringing results good enough to for the company.
