“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”—Maya Angelou

Quite a lot of people have been writing right from when they were kids. Some people started writing out of boredom or to unburden themselves to the empty pages. They never had an inkling that what they do for fun or solace would later become a career.

I’ve always been attracted to words. I started reading novels, poems, and essays right from junior high school. And the more I read the more I write for myself and my siblings.

People write for many reasons and it doesn’t matter if only one individual reads your piece. The most important thing is to write your story and send it out once you’re done.

At times you might find yourself wondering whether anyone would care to open your piece and spend time reading it. Or which aspect of your life to write about.

It’s okay to think this way sometimes, but never allow negative thoughts to stop you from writing and sharing your stories. Readers aren’t expecting you to bear everything about you in your stories. They’re more interested in how your story can help them with what they’re trying to accomplish. They’d like to know the steps you took and the lessons you learned about a particular thing or a situation to see whether they’d apply the same in their lives.

Write to Support Others.

We’re all dealing with diverse issues in life. For some people, it’s a hurdle to leap over — or a slippery path to glide across. And we rely on content from writers to gain some insights on how to handle these issues better.

You’re going to write because your story will provide readers with some insightful ideas and knowledge that’d grow in their lives and help them solve problems or learn how to handle situations better.

Your pieces will illuminate the understanding of many individuals and help them find the right path to take in life. Your story might be what some people would read and feel empowered to start going after their dreams — and true desires.

You might be the one to use your words to direct those that are going through difficult times to where there’s a bit of sunshine and help them keep their focus in that direction.

Write to Bring Your Talent to Light

Writers are the main reason why we have numerous songs, movies, shows, and poems. We enjoy all these because some awesome individuals let their light shine by creating amazing pieces for themselves and everyone.

No one would’ve known them and what they’re capable of if they hadn’t expressed themselves through their talents. And this is a great reason why you’re going to write because you’d remain hidden until you begin to let your light shine through your talent.

Your experiences in life are going to help you to have lots of quality content to share. It’s where you’d draw many ideas and inspirations to enrich your pieces and make them more insightful and interesting.

Let your experiences be the reason why your light is going to shine brighter when turned on.

Write to Earn Money

You can earn enough from your stories to buy a cup of coffee with a scrumptious doughnut. You also can earn enough to help you with your living expenses. It all depends on what you want to achieve from the craft.

In any case, it takes a lot of work to earn from writing.

It’s worth mentioning that what drives successful writers to go all the way is love and not financial benefits. Therefore don’t write solely because of money. Rather do it out of passion and every other thing will follow. Your love for the craft should always stay ahead of extrinsic benefits.

Write About The Kind of Live You’d Want to Live.

Writing your story allows you to unintentionally examine yourself and envision what you might want in life. It’d help you to know where to make amends and what you might start doing to improve and achieve growth.

Life is all about improving and becoming better and writing can help you to shine some light in your life to understand yourself better. And the more you write the more you desire to read more and doing this would help you to expand your awareness, and transform you into a better individual.

Write to Teach

Many individuals wouldn’t know how to go about many things today if not for the content they consume from the internet. We’re all addicted to self-help articles. We’ve consumed a lot, yet we want more and more.

You can choose topics from your area of expertise and write insightful content for people.

Without content, cyberspace would mean little or nothing to humans. Content is what fuels the internet and keeps its flame blazing. And readers would always look up to writers to create meaningful content that’d help them get what they seek.

Teach and enrich lives through writing. Use your knowledge and experience to impact lives positively. Teaching would also benefit you immensely because not only you’re going to earn from doing it, you’d also learn, and improve your life as you help others to improve theirs.

***

Write to Entertain

Writers are amazingly creative. Some of them would let you have a peek at what’s going on in their lives through their creative work and how they’re dealing with it. They also write just about anything which might turn out to be a piece that’s never been written before.

They bring fun and relaxation to their fans through their creative works. And they’re the reason why we have so many wonderful songs, shows, and movies to enjoy.

Create to entertain if you have the knack for writing creative pieces. You can entertain so many folks through your writing. Your work would bring excitement and wonderful feeling to many.

Conclusion

Writing is all about using your talent to create, communicate, and impact lives positively. Writing also allows you to create the type of life you’d like to live. And to teach many people how to improve their lives. Writing makes it possible to ask questions that’d yield responses that’d benefit you and others.

Your words sprinkled with your unique ideas and experience will feel a void in many lives. A lot of people would enjoy your pieces. And they’d want you to continue to create interesting pieces. Never allow anything to stop you from writing your story. Embrace the gift. Use it to enrich yourself and others.
