Mood is something that can change in the blink of an eye for some people. I'm one of those people, unfortunately.

Sometimes I'll have a long list of tasks and things to do, big ideas and creative projects, then I wake up in the morning...on the wrong side of the bed, in a bad mood that only makes me want to stay under the blanket for the rest of the day.

A bad mood impacts not only your well-being but also your productivity and social interactions.

I do believe that it's important to start as you mean to go on; My point is to try to handle your bad mood first thing in the morning if you don't feel 100% as you wake up because if you don't, it'll likely, only get worse during the day.

That being said, we can't always afford to spend hours treating and pampering ourselves into a better mood. So here are my favorite quick ways to put yourself in a better mood in 15 minutes or less for those days or moments when you need a bit of a push.

Take A Shower

A hot shower can do wonders. Whether it's the warmth, the feeling of water down your body, the scents, or a mixture of everything, I always feel refreshed and clean on an "emotional" level and ready to face whatever is waiting for me ahead.

So whenever you feel overwhelmed, stressed, stuck, or just full and about to blow up, get under the water, focus on the sensations, and just let the bad mood pour out of you as water is pouring down on you.

A Hot Drink

A hot warm drink, be it coffee, hot chocolate or flavored tea warms up your insides. In doing that, weirdly it also affects your mood; Maybe because when you're in a bad mood you tend to feel unsatisfied and empty.

Well, a hot drink can be an instant mood booster because warming up your belly is a great way to fill up that emptiness and it makes you feel cozy from the inside out.

Your Favorite Comedic Show

Did you know that laughter can become a habit? In the sense that the more you laugh and surround yourself with comedic and funny things, the more it's easier for you to laugh and smile. Ultimately, it makes it easier for you to be happy.

So, whenever you feel the blues, make sure to turn on your favorite comfort comedic show. Even as little as 15min can do wonders for you.

My remedy is The Graham Norton Show. It's a talk show true but the British humor of Graham makes even the most uptight celebrities loosen up and show their fun and crazy side. A favorite!

Take A Nap

I can solve almost everything with sleep. I may be taking it to an extreme level but yeah, I've found out that there is almost nothing a good nap can't fix.

If you're stressed, take a nap. Angry? Take a nap. Your brain is foggy and you can't decide on something? You got it, take a nap.

If a shower doesn't fix it, a nap will probably do. It really allows you to clear up your head, recharge, and refocus your energy on what's important.

Put On Your Favorite Music & Dance

My secret tip? Have a ready-at-hand "happy" go-to playlist. Music and songs that just remind you of good times, connect you to your happiest memories, or just make you want to jump up and dance.

Whenever you're feeling down, think of this as your mood first aid kit. It's great because while you can't take a shower or nap at any time of the day or anywhere you like, you can have music at your hands whenever you need it.

Any Type Of Exercise

Yes I know, It may not be everybody's cup of tea but there are so many types of workouts that it's only a matter of finding what works for you.

The rush of adrenaline and dopamine you get from a workout, even as quick as a 15 minutes workout, will make you feel empowered, confident, and ready to face it all.

So whether you decide to go for jogging, kickboxing, pilates, or yoga, you can be sure it's going to be of great help.

I sincerly hope that you'll give a chance to one these quick mood boosters next time you feel down or not at your best. Just remember that it's okay to not be at 100% all the time and that you can help yourself out of your bad mood with some easy self-care.
