Sit there and wait for clients to come to you

People are not mindreaders and can normally smell desperation for money a mile off. People don't know they need your service until you make them feel they're missing something in their life - that's you! But there is certainly magic behind building relationships online. Just because they don't need your service, doesn't mean they won't refer you if you play your cards right.

Being in a general Facebook group with over 3 thousand people

You can easily get lost in a group with over 3k people - even though it's natural for groups to swell the more people network. Have a brainstorm of other groups and interests that you can join to share your services.

Bombard groups with links to your service and offers - this will get you nowhere

Without showing up consistently and developing relationships in groups how will others know who you are and if they can trust your expertise? I generally haven't found putting my link in a sea of other people's links particularly helpful, it's having personal interactions and nurturing relationships that have worked.

Not being prepped with client information on the intro call

Getting websites and social media accounts from your client before the call is a neat way of figuring out beforehand whether you're a good fit and any ideas you could put your client's way to seal the deal on the call. This will impress them for sure.

You get upset because no one has liked your posts on IG

Here's a secret - I don't always like posts that I like. Mainly because my brain doesn't see a reward in it, but I do screenshot posts to save for later inspiration. I know awful, but it's the truth. I generally like to see that the post has been clicked on taking a client through to a website that holds more value compared to a like. I like to think there are two types of people - the ones that just like the post AND the ones that take action and follow up on the journey with you to your website from the post.

You're unclear about your services

People love to have a choice. Give them choice and the probability will be higher that they will invest in you if you give them the options to do so. And if I can't see how you can help me and show me how I am spending my money on you, I won't be inspired to spend.

You're too busy matching your brand website colors to your curtains or underwear (or whatever you're doing)

You don't need to spend thousands of dollars on a website to get clients. And certainly spending time on your website is eating away at your networking time finding clients for your business.

You're perfectly unorganized and blissfully not ready for success

Being unsure of how you should be getting clients should be your number one priority to fix this if this is an issue. Not knowing or having a game plan will extend the time it takes for you to get a client.

You haven't said a word in any Facebook groups yet...

...and no one has the foggiest who you are when you land your link to your must-have, juicy offers when the opportunity arises. Standing back and being a spectator in building your business relationships both online and offline isn't going to work. You're going to have to come out sometime.

Not having your processes nailed down in securing a client

How do you get off a client call? How do you invite your potential client to schedule a meeting with you? Do you send a thank you note to your client after the call? How do you send your proposal? The checklist is endless...
